The tour consists of two separate houses, the original wooden house and the later added stone home. One of the few places to enjoy Florida's pioneering history. Also has some beautiful paths throughout the property for nature lovers. Worth it.

This historic house and grounds are set alongside the bay with beautiful views, nature paths, picnic areas and artist studios in vintage cottages. One can easily imagine the attraction that the location held for the earliest settlers in Miami. A house tour rounds out the visit as docents provide a large amount of information about the property and the surrounding... More

I was lucky to visit on a free admission "play day". Normal admission is $12, I'm glad I got in free, but we got a condensed version of the tour since the place was packed. We didn't get to go into the hidden wine cellar. Besides that, great place to even have a picnic along the waterfront and the tour... More

We came here because it was a "Blue Star Museum". From the parking lot you cannot see the home. What you do see is a large wooden building with a ticket office in it. The day we arrived we walked up and no one was manning the office, the only staff around was maintence people and they did not speak... More

Went in April for a good friends wedding... The view where they said their vows was so beautiful, over looking the water. The estate has an amazing history. The way it was all laid out was perfect. Dancing inside, wine in the basement, dinner in the court yard area. A beautiful place to see.

I have gone to this place for years but never had the opportunity to get the tour and the whole history of it. Lucky me there was no charge that day, check their website, they have different days throughout the year. I read a bad review, sorry it was a bad experience but take into account, it is summer, raining... More

We drove half an hour to get to this place and went to the visitors center to buy a ticket at the ticket office where they told us you can't buy tickets here. Since we went in July the place was full of mosquitos, there were kids at the explores camp everywhere, and the nature trail was closed. We went... More

As it happens, many locals are oblivious to this beautiful place... we just had it in our to do list for quite some time, until we one day, we decided to try it out, we were amazed!!! Indeed, it's a bit difficult to find, but once you do, you have to come back. So I bought a one year membership... More

A great place to walk around and view the bay. Nice place for a picnic on the grounds. Come to the various events held throughout the year by purchasing a membership.

Simply put, it's a nice estate on the water that takes you back into the history of South Florida. You can also rent kayaks from the location. No big thrills, but it's a nice place to visit and just stroll the property. You can head to nearby Homestead for great shakes or Black Point Marina for lunch.
