This property, the former location of Parrot Jungle, was acquired several years ago by the Village of Pinecrest, and is now operated as a park and botanical garden. The grounds have been lushly planted with beautiful tropical plants and flowers, and have been refurbished with a water playground for kids (excellent), art gallery, a petting zoo, outdoor dining spots, and... Former home of Parrot Jungle, the space was turned into a beautiful park for residents and visitors alike to enjoy. If you are in the area or just in the market for a park space to spend the day...make the trek to this lovely park. You may even catch sight of the flocks of wild parrots that still inhabit the... I love this place! We were in Miami visiting family and we wanted to do something everyone could enjoy. There's a playground and a splash pad for the kids and beautiful tropical trees and flowers. They also offer family movie nights.

I miss the parrots! It is still a beautiful garden, although not as well tended or as interesting since Parrot Jungle left. There is still a small children's farm animal area, and many large trees, as well as the children's water place to play in. There is an Art exhibit area. The best time to go is on a Sunday... More

Wow, this place keeps getting better and better. If it wasn't enough be one of the most beautiful botanical gardens around featuring one of the two rain forests in the Continental United States, they have really ramped up their performing arts events this year and added two festivals...Latin Spice, a food festival in December and Howl-O-Ween, a pet fair and... Pinecrest Gardens is quite easy to find using cell phone mapping and has plenty of parking. Reasonable entrance fee. You can see the whole thing in about an hour. Visited in late March on a weekday and concession stand was not open. They provide a map of the garden that is helpful.

There are several places to go when you're tired of the noise and crowds of Miami. This is one of the very best. The paved paths make it easy and safe to stroll. You will see interesting and unusual examples of rain forest plants as well as pools of fish. There's even a play area for the children.
