The parrots and other birds are gone but there remain the exotic plants, trees, and flowers surrounding the gardens. I'm sure the sausage trees are still there and you can still have your picture taken with the big sausage fruit in your head. This is a place mostly for people seeking some romantic and serene setting . If you want some... More

Every time I find myself here, I feel like I'm a million miles away. Walking through the garden is amazing. Truly is. Especially if its lightly raining. So nice. Sunday's they have a farmers market! They host events in their amphitheater. Watched a symphony there last year. There's so much to there and the surrounding area. Wonderful community.

This is a very lush tropical garden, as you might expect for a garden in southern Florida. The dense canopy allows you to believe you're not near a major city. There are also water features and ponds everywhere, filled with koi and a few other fishes. Unfortunately, they are no match for the multitudes of mosquitoes. Full disclosure: I came... More

Pinecrest has done a great job maintaining the original Parrot Jungle- aka Jungle Island site. The garden is beautifully maintained and the farmers market on Sunday mornings is a treat.

Located on the grounds of the former home of Parrot Jungle, these gardens are a sheer delight. There are plants, trees, flowers, lakes, ponds filled with koi fish and open spaces for children to burn off energy. One will see many different species of birds and very often, the parrots come back to visit. Bring you lunch and pick a... More

This is a great place to visit especially if you have an hour or more to spend walking around the park on either of the self or guided tours. There is a petting zoo, playground, splash and play area, botanical plants, iguanas, and fish to feed. Be sure to visit the farmers market on every Sunday - Year Round from... More

We went here a few months ago and have been meaning to write a review since then. We went after finding it on probably the tenth article we read about what to do with children around Miami and after going we were shocked that it wasn't in every list we came across. Our son is just under a year old... More

This unique garden dates back to the 1930's, and was originally known as "Parriot Jungle". The animals are gone, but the beautiful tropical landscaping, with its amazing collection of tropical plants from all over the world, still remains. There are nice paved walking trails that take you through flowing pants, past giant banyon trees, along quiet fish ponds and small... More
