This park is great for the novice kayaker. Great scenery and easy paddling. The more adventurous can kayak to the small island and lounge around. Biking is also great at this location and probably the best off road biking in Dade County. The beach is OK, as long as it's not packed with visitors that day.

We drove down from Toronto Ontario Canada to experience Florida. It was my first time visiting this state and I must say this was honestly the worst part of our vacation. I also rated the cabins in a separate review for Oletta River but I will touch on that here as well. First off upon arriving here the park is... More

I went with family and childrens Sunday Apr. 27. We arrived at 10am. Despite the Marathon race everything was quite and beautiful. At 11Am a local hispanic church started to install powerful sound equipment and in minutes the beautiful calm beach was converted in a very loud religious event. Several visitors complained to some Park attendants and finally the music... More

If you like to experience the outdoors in what most of Miami-Dade County looked like in the 1960s this is the place to go. It's great for rental biking and kayaking. You do want to evade visits during the summer months due to the hordes of mosquitoes and heat.

Very nice for an outing for lunch. Only problem if the wind is blowing from the mangroves to the park it can be a little "smelly".

Our company has its Dragon Boat Practice out at the Park, it is Old Miami deep in Aventura, FL. Some nice trails. You will see Paddle Boarders, Kayaks and maybe a 30' Dragon Boat out there. It is Florida and Hot so dress accordingly. On the Adjacent part of the park is a great Reasturant for a Burger and a... More

This was my 2nd time to Oleta. We specifically came to rent the kayaks and have a fun day on the water. We arrived at around 10:15 AM and the park was not too busy yet so it only took about 10 min to rent the tandem kayak we got. The rental itself is upstairs in the Blue Moon Center,... More

My family decided to go camping for the first time. We picked Oleta Park for the A/C cabins. We had a great time. Our kids enjoyed the fire-pit, trails and the beach area. Please bring bug spray.. they are everywhere!

I'm sure canoeing is great there and we saw some people doing that. But I'm a runner and when I visit the area find the beach sand way too soft and the concrete of the sidewalk is so bad for our knees (mine included!). Our concierge recommended Oleta and I went a few times. There is a great trail network... More

We had a blast canoeing here. We went out for 1 1/2 hours. Next time we'll try kayaking. A huge tarpon leaped out of the water right next to us and a blue heron flew right in front of our friends' canoe. Our friends, who live in Miami, just sent us pictures of dolphins playing around their canoe on a... More
