My wife, daughter (25 years old) and I spent about six hours enjoying the Metrozoo. They have a wide range of exhibits and the animals seem to be well provided for and in habitats that closely resemble their native environs. The landscaping is top-notch with many exotic species. We could have spent another day of equal length before seeing everything... more

Went there with my family on a hot August day . Was prepared to be miserable but it was great...You really get close to the animals and can see them being fed if you check the map/schedule. Many exhibits that you can go into and cool off for awhile...a great experience. Look for coupons for reduced admission. more

My fiancee and I visited the Miami Metrozoo today as something to do on a Saturday, as we live only about 20 minutes away. We expected something small and probably not the most maintained zoo, however we were taken aback by the shear magnitude of the park and the amount of animals available to be seen. You will need a... more

-Great experience, wonderful & interesting displays. Don't miss the Orangutans, Chimps & feeding the giraffes. -There is a Monorail but, for me the best way to see Metrozoo, rent a Safari Cycle for the whole family; it has a top so you will have shade all the time. -Small cycles can accommodate up to three adults and two small children,... more

We recently visited the zoo, in early July and it was not at all crowded. We are use to the central Florida theme parks and the huge crowds. This was a very pleasant change. No big crowds and a very laid back atmosphere. The zoo is very well maintained and the new Amazon exhibits are amazing. The tram ride was... more

From Fort Lauderdale,I went there with my daughter. It was quite far for few. Inside the zoo we must walk a lot (you must pay for bycicles) to see few animals ... if you are lucky : the animals are in parks and if they don't sleep somewhere you need binoculars and you must pay for them. In the restaurant... more

I went to this Zoo on April 24th. This zoo has a huge diversity of species, and informative, interactive explanations on the animals. The Asia Aviarium was the best part of the zoo to me. It is supposed to be the largest in North America. They have great breeding and repopulation programs, so you know your admission price is doing... more

My family and I drove to Miami to visit the zoo for a family outing. Little did we know some of the exhibits roamed the walkways. My 4 yr old daughter was walking just ahead of me when I saw the 24" black snake in the walkway. Had she taken another step she would have stepped right on it!! I... more

Having visited most of the top zoo's in the country, I was a bit hesitant to visit the Miami Metro Zoo. After reading reviews from Frommers and Trip Advisor, I decided to visit. I am so glad I did. Miami Metro Zoo is one of the nicest, cleanest, and largest zoo's I have been to (especially being a Miami -Dade... more
