I attended the Intro class on July 4 as part of a group lesson. They had a good combination of shore instruction and practicing skills in the water. I was surprised I was able to learn all the skills needed to begin windsurfing on my own in a single class. They had lots of staff available to watch us and... More

During an extended stay in Florida I tracked down Calema for windsurfing hire. The guys are fantastic and really helped me get the right board and sail for the conditions (and my skill level!). Cost is very reasonable, location is great and as long as you watch the wind forecast (recommend 'windfinder.com') you can have a great experiance. Highly recommend... More

Calema is a wonderful location for all levels of windsurfers and paddlers. There is a shallow water launch for access to the beautiful Banana River where one can see all sorts of wildlife and if you're fortunate enough- a rocket launch ! I was there in July and experienced Kids Camps--amazing to see how easily these kids learned. The instruction... More

A bunch of locals that don't like newcomers. They think its there personal space and are rude and uninviting to others. It's a public park but they want it to themselves. The operater of the gear shop on location is they worst of all. If your not spending money with him expect a hassle. They can have it! It stinks... More

Calema is a wonderful place for experienced windsurfers to improve their skills any time, including during the off season (we went in October). It's also a great place for beginners (including kids) to learn the sport. The water is warm and relatively shallow close to the river bank, and the river and park offer a beautiful setting for the whole... More

I am a fifty years woman with very limited windsurfing experience but really love the sport and always wanted to get proficient at this. I tried it many times in Club Med but instructors there are not really teaching you and equipment is really bad. Here at Calema I was windsurfing at the very first day and really progressed within... This is an awesome experience for family and individuals. I have had two of my children enrolled in Calema's windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding and kayaking summer camps and experiences. They loved it and have been able to master these skills. I myself have gone Kayaking several times and have enjoyed the peace on the river and even seen a... More

My husband and I had a blast at Calema. We took a group class and within hours, we were windsurfing up and down the river with ease. The instructor was knowledgable, encouraging, and so nice. We will definitely be going back to Calema!

Can’t say enough good things about Calema, the people, the facility and the equipment. Everything from start to finish, including the rental, the instruction, getting out on our own, adjusting the equipment and extra tips to improve the experience were fantastic. I would recommend this to any one or family for a great experience.

I've been visiting Calema for over a decade--whenever I'm in the area. I learned to windsurf there, and have enjoyed windsurfing there almost every time I visit Florida. The selection of gear is wonderful, and the staff always gives me good advice about different boards and sails to try, etc, for conditions at the time, and my skill level, which... More
