Tinho Dornellas is an outstanding instructor and in his 3 day course the students learn the how to harness the "balance power" of the sail to windsurf with less effort and more confidence. A variety of skills (proper stance, tacking, jibing, harness, footstraps, waterstarts, etc.) are taught through dry land demonstration & practice with various devices/simulators. The on water implementation... More

After some exploring, and willingness to get OUT of Cocoa Beach, we found Calema and so glad we did. Tinho was so welcoming to our family, made daughters 13 and 9 feel a part of the learning process. They were so excited about their SUP boards and the gear and learning techniques. My daughter remarked that she really felt the... More

Every time we come down to Cocoa beach for holidays or just for a few days of winter escape vacations we rent windsurfing equipment at Calema. It is a well-run establishment with plenty of equipment for all skill levels.Tinho ( the owner ) and other stuff members are very friendly ,In addition to the great selection of the windsurfing equipment... I came here for the first time with only basic skills learned elsewhere. I joined on of the performance clinics and was super impressed with the progress I was making. The first thing I noticed is the quality of the equipment. Most places which teach windsurfing have either basic beginner boards on which you cannot learn more advanced skills, or... More

As an improving windsurfer, the Perfromance Clinic I attended targeted the specific skills I needed to establish a strong foundation. Tinho is extremely knowledgeable, evidenced by his explanations of the most effective technique using the best balanced position. He covers the geometry that creates the easiest maximization of forces for an enjoyable stable ride. I'm sure the lessons I learned... More

Tinho & his son gave my family of four (my wife & I, and our two girls ages 11 &13) windsurfing lessons. In a little under two hours, all four of us were up and windsurfing! Tinho and his staff were easy going while showing us the path to succes. They presented the concepts by breaking down all of the... More

I had never windsurfed before I got here. Training instructor Josh got me up in no time. Good customer service, friendly staff, and if you take lessons you get to rent a windsurf for three hours for free!

I attended the Intro class on July 4 as part of a group lesson. They had a good combination of shore instruction and practicing skills in the water. I was surprised I was able to learn all the skills needed to begin windsurfing on my own in a single class. They had lots of staff available to watch us and... More

During an extended stay in Florida I tracked down Calema for windsurfing hire. The guys are fantastic and really helped me get the right board and sail for the conditions (and my skill level!). Cost is very reasonable, location is great and as long as you watch the wind forecast (recommend 'windfinder.com') you can have a great experiance. Highly recommend... More
