The wetlands is teeming with lots of birds. Probably more Ibis, storks and other water birds. But today I saw a lot of different wildlife and I was driving. I saw an alligator from a distance, a squirrel, a racoon, rabbit, snake. You could probably see a lot more if you were hiking or biking.

This is the perfect place to experience quiet and tranquility. Just drive through, slowly, and let nature do its magic. Spotting alligators while being there with visitors, of course, adds to the experience and lasting memories. I also would like to recommend a just published book by a young Melbourne resident. It provides wonderful specifications of the birds you'll see.... More

Went for the first time today. We saw several birds of different varieties. We wanted to see alligators, but no luck. You drive through and don't have to get of your car and it's free. Nice way to spend a half hour. If you are really serious, bring binoculars too view the wildlife that is in the distance.

This is a great place for families to take the kids, especially if you've never seen alligators up close and in person. Guests are taken through the wetlands on an airboat and a tour guide points out the various wildlife and explains the eco system. It take about 20-30 minutes and is lots of fun. There's also a little coffee... More
