We went without children and became children ourselves as we kayaked around an island full of giraffes, climbed the tower to hand-feed them, then spent way more time than we'd intended in the aviary. The birds will perch on your wrist to drink nectar from little cups you purchase for a nominal donation to the zoo. This isn't a huge... More

Being from Ohio we hesitate to go to other zoos beside the Columbus Zoo. However, we get half off on admission to other zoos so we decided to try the zoo near where we were visiting family. We were far from disappointed. The zoo is set up in a way that you feel like you are in the natural habitat... More

More like a big city zoo but with the climate, the tropical animals are just normally use to being here

We spent about six hours here this hot July day. I was so happy there was shade everywhere and benches. We found water fountains and filled our water bottles up frequently. About 2:30 we changed into swim suits and the kids splashed in the water area next to a fish tank! There is so much to do here, you really... More

We stumbled across Brevard Zoo while trying to find something to do for the afternoon, before heading over to Cocoa Beach to watch a rocket launch from Kennedy. Not expecting much, we were delighted as soon as we walked in. Broken up into continents the sections of the zoo each focus on what can be found in that specific part... More

I love the indoor area for the kids. It has a sand box, a wall of reptiles in cages and mock vet's office for the kids to pretend. It is awesome. It's great to get out of the heat sometimes. I love the kiddie area to swim in too. The only complaints I could have is that sometimes the staff... More

I have been to this zoo twice now, and both times have been very enjoyable. The zoo is beautiful. There are plenty of trees which help to give shade from the hot sun, and they have some misting areas along the way as well which help you to cool off a bit. The animal exhibits are spacious and nicely landscaped,... More

Make sure you get there early since it's so hot out these days that a majority of the animals are hiding and sleeping at peak sun beating times. Very nice and clean and maintained zoo.

Lots of fun but does get crowded early. Recommend getting there when they open. Loved the giraffe feeding and the volunteers in that area were very nice and informative. If you watched the show you must see the meerkats. This zoo is great for kids of all ages.

I wasn't expecting too much but I was incredibly impressed by the Brevard Zoo. First, this is the least expensive zoo I can remember. One might think this means the quality will be lower. Quite the opposite. The range of animals is impressive but the best part of the entire zoo - you are so close to the animals. From... More
