If you are looking for a great winter vacation spot, Marco Island just may be the place...! We visited over Christmas and stayed for 4 nights in a hotel within walking distance from the hotel's private beach. In summary, the experience was excellent - great beach, interesting shells (washed out each morning on the beach), good place to swim and... More

Of course I like most all beaches, this one is nice, quiet, uncrowded most of the time, sometimes it is hard to find a spot to park and parking does cost, beach is kind of shelly so make sure you wear some type of shoes, but I love beaches and have been here several times and will be back, just... We parked in the city lot that has only 70 spaces. The parking machine did not work and consumed two dollars without accepting the rest of our cash (no refunds). The cost for the day is $8.00 and we finally had to use a credit card. Had a lovely breakfast and lunch from two venues. Great chair rentals just west... More

Parking is limited ($8 day flat rate - no hourly parking). If you don't get a spot in the South Marco Beach lot you're pretty much hooped. But spots do open up during the day if you're around to get one. This beach is fairly crowded so if you want more space or less people, try the left beach at... More

If you love a good walk in the morning, you will love walking this beach. It is smooth and flat and you will probably meet the true owners of the beach along the way (see my photo). If you simply like to catch some rays, quietly read a book or fish, you will love this beach during the day. Especially... More

Beaches are clean and well taken care of. Fun to look for shells. Good idea to wear footwear, perhaps water walkers as there are lots of pieces of broken shells. Beach was not overly crowded.

We did lots of shelling, and saw live crabs, clams, conch, starfish. It was new and different every morning.

This is one of three beaches on Marco Island. Residence Beach is mainly for residents or snowbirds but there is a hefty fee. Tiger tail Beach is a long walk to be directly on the ocean itself and there is a fee to park. There is facilities here. It is about $9 for the day. South Marco Beach is a... More

This was a nice, clean beach but not near as wide as the tigertail beach on the other end of the island

Such a beautiful, wide, family oriented beach!!! If u like to walk, the beach is endless... There is a restaurant on the beach which is open to the public, called Sunset Grille to get sandwiches, fish platters and drinks if you opt to buy! 8 dollars to park, (or permit) if u can get a spot! Going early is a... More
