Not sure why this location is so popular. I can find just about anything to do that is better than beaching my boat between dozens of other boats while some people fish, swim, sunbath, drink, camp etc. why too busy, why to loud, way too many people.

Rented a pontoon from Rose Marina to get there. Went on a Tuesday and there were very few people there. You must have a boat to get there. Took fishing poles and live shrimp and caught Sheapshead (our 8 and 12 year olds) off the beach where we landed the boat. Tons of live sea stars, baby conch, hermit crabs,... More

I'm not into shelling. LOTS of shells, so if that's your thing, it's a nice visit. I did like it for a lunch stop (picnic) and a swim in the Gulf.

This is also a wonderful place to go and see. When we pulled up the star fish were just swimming around. I have never seen that before.

Keewaydin Island is an amazing place to visit by boat. Not only is the scenery gorgeous, but so is the atmosphere. Other boaters are always playing music, being friendly, and having a good time. My group of friends and I will boat out there with some sandwiches and drinks, listen to music, suntan, fish, and walk the beach. Last year... More

The shells are so plentiful, it's insane. I have to limit my kids as to how many we can take back with us so that we don't sink the boat (or pay double for our suitcases). The swimming on the one side is totally protected and wonderful for little kids. The swimming on the other side of the island has... More

A group of us came over on a rented boat to enjoy time on the "quiet, deserted beach" on a Sunday afternoon. When we arrived, the place was packed with partiers! Once we found a spot to beach our boat, we were able to walk along what did become a largely vacant beach. This is soft white sand, with no... More

We ended up on Keewaydin Island almost by accident. While vacationing with our family on Marco Island, my father-in-law decided he wanted to rent a pontoon boat for the whole family and explore the intercoastal waterway a bit. We got a boat from Rose Marina and were soon out and about on the water. After and hour or so of... More

I spent summers for years at the adjacent Marco Island and visited this beach regularly. I now can only return once a year but am always amazed at how beautiful this beach is with its clear blue water and abundant treasure of shells. Rent a boat and visits and spend the day, bring a picnic.

If you like to party this is where you want to be! Accessible by boat only. There are other vendor boats selling food and beer.
