I booked this tour based on the overwhelmingly great reviews, news articles, and website touting that Dolphin Explorer is an experience that could "change kids lives." The tour markets itself as not only providing an opportunity to observe dolphins, but also offers an opportunity to engage in research, learn from a naturalist, be provided with a deeper understanding and experience.... This tour deserves all of the great reviews that it has received. You get to see a lot of dolphins and other sea life in addition to having a nice break on a relatively secluded island for shelling. Kids love this but I was particularly interested in the photo and video opportunities for the dolphins. It is really difficult to... More

We enjoyed the tour immensely. It was both fun and educational. The crew and the guide are well trained and professional. The guide was knowledgeable and gave us great information. We  saw dolphins (of course) and were given information on how to identify them, what their habits were, and even their names. This is not just a boat ride but a... More

I was a little hesitant about this trip because it sounded like it could be so scientific that it wouldn't be any fun. I was wrong. Yes, the group who runs the Dolphin Explorer does scientific research, but they document sightings while showing families a great time. My kids received an activity booklet and were encouraged to fill in what... More

A truly memorable excursion aboard the Dolphin Explorer. There is great detail and professionalism that goes into this tour- you notice it from the moment you check in to the moment you step off the boat. It's also incredibly fun! You'll be sitting on a midsize catamaran, with the mid section being shaded and the front of the boat exposed... More

We had a great time on this trip. We chose it because my daughter loves to learn, and we had read that it was educational. It was not only educational but fun too! The booklet for the kids was great, and she loved learning about how they identify the Dolphins by their fin, and how they socialize. She came back... More

Last time I had been on a boat was 27 years ago due to a previous experience of sea sickness. I had absolutely no problem with sea sickness on this excursion. (Although I did wear sea bands, took the "less drowsy" Dramamine, had saltines and ginger ale before getting on the boat. Probably would have been fine without these steps... More

This was everything it was advertised as and more. The captain Mike was great and the naturalist Bob was very informative about dolphins and the area. A must do trip for the family.

We had such a great time looking for dolphins and shelling. Loved that they kept the kids engaged with a questionnaire and such to fill out. Very family friendly. We saw so many dolphins and they we very active like they were putting on a show for us. Would highly recommend!!!
