Visited the beach market, on Sundays from November to March, 10am to 4pm. It has expanded quite dramatically, there were at least 40 vendors with a great assortment of locally made products, as well as a couple of fruit and vegetable stands. It is spread out near the main beach stand, plenty of parking. it is now located along the... More

Both of my boys have had their first beach experiences here at Coquina Beach. The sand isn't as lovely as it is on some other parts of the island, but it is super silky by the dunes (great photo ops). There are picnicking areas, too, and some shady spots. There are places to change, a playset, and the nature preserve... More

A hidden gem nestled away on the south side of Anna Maria Island (and just north of Longboat Key). The weekends tend to get crowded, but on weekdays, the beach is practically private.

This is a really pretty beach with beautiful sand. it can get pretty busy on the weekends so head out early of the bridge backs up sometimes all the way to town. A lot of families come out here with their kids and picnic during the day. There is also a nice firework show on the 4th of July. Beautiful... More

Coquina Beach is a very beautiful beach. The turquoise water invites you to come swim and play with the fish, dolphins, and manatees, The only thing I don't like is the long walk in te sand to the water, which is tough on my bad back but it isn't too bad once you find a spot. The restroooms are always... More

We stayed on Anna Maria in August and enjoyed every minute of it. By far our favorite beach was Coquina. Gentle, lapping water, large beach with many shells. Went here every day going past many other beaches on the way.

We happened upon this beach traveling from Fort Myers to Tampa and stopped to enjoy the clear water, white powder beach and clean facilities for a short while before moving on. There was lot's of parking available, great areas to spread out, both in and out of the sun and some great sea shelling to be had. We wished we... More
