Suwanee River State Park preserves some of the forests and natural vegetation along a section of the historic Suwanee River in north Florida. The park is nice, but is probably not worth making a special effort to visit. It is far from a big city, and perhaps for that reason appears to be very peaceful. There were hardly any visitors... Well kept Florida State Park with excellent trail system. Our favorite trail is the Lime Sink Run Trail along the seasonal fresh water spring. Very scenic! Take precautions for ticks for yourselves and any pets. It's not severely overrun, but they are definitely around. In 3 days of robust hiking we removed 3 ticks from my wife and I, and... More

Beautiful!!!!! 6 hiking trails, Earthworks, Suwannee River, Balancing Rock, and the trail with Columbus cemetery (U forgot the name) all easy to walk. Lime Run, harder, but the most beautiful. Just be careful of the Suwannee River trail that's continued off the Earthworks trail. (There are two paths. One that connects into balancing rock, and the other that connects into... More

The only downfall to this park is the sulphur smell. The spring is otherwise nice, the beach area is ok (could be better maintained), there are a good number of steps to walk down so it may present trouble for those with injuries. This is a nice place for photographs.

Stayed two nights in one of the cabins before starting a 5-day paddle on the Suwannee River. The boat ramp is close by the cabins which afforded easy access with loaded kayaks using wheeled kayak carriers. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and included needed amenities. Especially liked the wrap around screened porch in the evenings.

We stopped just to explore, and found an easy hiking trail along the Suwannee river - brought the canoe along, and it would be a beautiful place to paddle, but this time, we just did some hiking. They've also got a nice campground.

This is a wonderful state park to camp in! There is hiking, bicycling both on and off road, and a river for canoeing and kayaking. The facilities are first rate. This park offers special activities throughout the year so be sure to check their calendar.
