Brilliant and Free

What a lovely place to walk around and enjoy staff here are a credit well done. I visit every time I come to Largo from Manchester UK and see something new each time.

This is. Free fun day with the younger kiddos. Adults ad kids alike sometimes needs I stop and smell the roses and this is. Great place to do just that. Wander through the gardens at a slow pace and enjoy some free family time. They even have a few spots to have a picnic. At christmas time the gardens are... More

This was a very beautiful place to spend a day. The setting and structures were gorgeous and the lay out was beautiful. So many flowers and trees in one place ! With excellent signage for descriptions and names and also lots of "you are here" signs throughout making it easy to find your way around. We will definitely be heading... More

This is a hidden gem in Largo. Some nice sprawling gardens, ponds. Plenty of places to sit and sketch or take photographs. Beautiful gardens with a large variety of trees, with nice paths connecting them all. I'm not a bird watcher, but there are certainly no shortage of beautiful birds flying around here with all the flowers and trees. Lots... More

Plenty of self-parking. Free admission and parking. Beautifully laid out gardens either side of a lake with labelled trees, shrubs, flowers, educational area and a herb garden. Lots of quiet walks. Free map. Restrooms in both university buildings. Next to museum of Florida heritage buildings (closed - out of season) which looked worth a visit and opposite an expansive state... More

I totally underestimated the size of this place and the amount of time we would spend here. We entered through the butterfly garden and then walked around the wetland area, by the time we arrived the tropical flowers my elderly mother was getting tired and we had to turn around.. I wish I'd grabbed and studied a map better to... More

We've visited the Florida Botanical Gardens --probably 4-5 times so far. Each time, we come away with great appreciation and respect. (1) This place has no admission charge. There are a lot of places in Florida that are wonderful, but exorbitant admission charges make those places inaccessible to a great portion of the population. Florida Botanical Gardens IS accessible, thanks... More

It was nice to see weeds in their natural environment. Maybe we visited at the wrong time of year, but I expected to see gardens, flowers, bushes, something attractive. Nope. Just dead growth and what looked like weeds. The signage added nothing to the experience. It was quite a disappointment.

Perhaps you were lost. Let us know and we can provide your with directions. We have a marvelous collection of tropical and native plants and flowers, all maintained by a fabulous group of volunteers. It seems odd that your experience differed so much from the other TripAdvisor reviews. More
