We bought a Groupon for this facility for a family membership. My parents were in town and my son is fascinated with aviation, so we figured this would be a nice stop on our way back towards Orlando from the Gulf coast. What a waste of a trip. The facility was mostly shut down due to lack of volunteers. The... More

I took my 5 year old on a whim to see some aviation history. The museum features an indoor hangar facility that house a lot of different exhibits based on aviation. There was even a little plane that kids could climb into and control the yoke and rudder pedals. For old kids and adults there is a computer simulator to... More

We visited during the sun 'n fun airshow and had a great time. We recommend the preferred seating next to the Announcer's Stand. They had benches in the shade and lots of chairs with restrooms nearby and a few tents to sit under. You get an armband for seating so you can come and go as you want. The blue... More

This is a great attraction for the family that tells the history of aviation all over the world as well as the United States and Florida. They have many exhibits and interactive flight simulators. It is fun for young and old alike. the prices are also reasonable.

Our family visited this past weekend. Our 2 yr old twins loved it because as soon as we got out of the car, there were half a dozen airplanes they could walk up to and touch. It's not too often a toddler can reach up and touch the bottom of an airplane. Outside was a F-14, a big 727 FedEx... More

Easy to get to but previous advertising sites showed prices had increased considerably. Still well worth a visit.

We flew up to Lakeland and had breakfast at what was the Runway Grill. Afterwards we had taxied over to the museum and paid $10 (kids under 5 free) to get in. The museum is small but interesting with simulators, planes and stuff for the kids to climb on. I enjoyed reading the exhibit on Howard Hughes.

My brother and I looked for something to see during a hot afternoon in Lakeland, before attending a Fly Tigers minor league baseball game (Class A farm team of the Detroit Tigers). We went to the "air conditioned" Florida Air Museum and were pleasantly surprised by the size of this public exhibit and the amount of aviation history that adorns... More

Surprising number of vintage aircraft for a little museum at the end of the road. Lots of Florida air history too. Right at the airport which hosts the Sun n fun fly in. You are also allowed to go into hangars where they are refurbishing old planes, which I found really nice. They also have some of the more bizarre... More
