A trip to Lakeland would not be complete without a stop to view Hollis Gardens. Hollis Gardens is a formal garden home to more than 10,000 flowers and ornamental shrubs and shade trees. My only regret was that I did not have an entire afternoon to just sit and enjoy.

The varied, manicured gardens make this an idyllic setting for special events or just relaxing. The grotto is a small, cool area with a trickling cascade of water down a stone face and a small reflecting pool. Peaceful therapy! The gardens are situated on Lake Mirror with an interesting view of downtown, the Amtrak station, and the beautiful lake promenade.

Great backdrop for a photo shot. Love the location, just pick the right photographer. Did a Groupon deal and were not pleased with the photographer choices of poses.

I was in Lakeland for a conference and before leaving I wanted to see some sights. Hollis Gardens was a top pick and now I know why. There is public parking available right outside the entrance to the park, which is convenient. (In many cities I have visited most parking in a downtown area is metered or paid garages.) At... More

We walked around Mirror Lake three times as the weather was so nice and the scenery beautiful. The flowers were amazing and so beautifully landscaped. We ate at the Garden Bistro which was very good and nice to sit outside on their patio.

The garden was really pretty. There were plenty of places to sit and enjoy the gardens. There was also a cafe to enjoy lunch. We found it to be a little oasis in the city.

Lake Mirror is popular for outdoor weddings; we were there for one and there were three others going on at different places in the complex. While waiting for ours to commence, we took a few minutes to wander through the garden and sure did enjoy it. There are several good photo op locations. Well manicured and landscaped with much attention... More

Beautiful gardens on a great lake very near downtown. Very quiet and picturesque with benches. Parking is available right there.

Visit Hollis Gardens on Lake Mirror in the heart of the historic district of Lakeland, Florida. Tropical flowers, roses, cactus, vegetables and more all labled so you can learn the species. Visit the Hollis Gardens, stroll Lake Mirror, eat at the Garden Bistro and have a wonderful day.
