My first reaction to this visit was why should I visit this college. When I got to the campus I was in for an unexpected surprise. We had the opportunity to tour the world's largest collection of Frank Lloyd's Wright architecture to include the Wright designed Usonian house. The Florida Southern College Historic District was designated a National Historic Landmark... More

We took the tour of the campus with a tour guide and really liked it. Love the architecture. We visited the campus on our way to Bok Tower Gardens. We took the tour in 2014, so I forgot the cost but you can google it before you go.

Very interesting campus architecture to walk around and view. Visitor Center is nothing, though. A few souvenirs and a $7 five minute tour of a recently constructed Usonian model. If you are in Lakeland anyway and a big Wright fan ... otherwise, skip it.

the largest collection of Wright buildings in the world. Enough said. Be sure to see the chapels and the Usonian House and get there early since tours end at 4:30. You can see the buildings for free but the tours cost $$. They need the $$ to maintain these treasures so don't be afraid to pay.

First, let's get the facts straight. The Frank Lloyd Wright buildings at Florida Southern College do NOT represent the largest collection of Wright work in one area. Chicago, for one, has many more Wright-designed buildings. There are 22 Wright buildings in the Oak Park neighborhood alone. The Florida Southern collections perhaps could be considered the largest group under one ownership... More

Any fan of Frank Lloyd Wright should not miss this campus. The guides were knowledgeable and helpful and the majority of mail campus buildings were Wright's designs.

Not only were the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings lovely and fascinating, but the few from the campus overlooking the lake was breathtaking. If I were a high schooler looking for a place to go to school, I would choose this one.

...if you are into architecture would be to visit the campus of Florida Southern. We were at nearby Lake Mirror for an outdoor wedding and had a little time to kill so we decided to sneak over to the college for a look. Our time was short so we did not have the opportunity for an in depth look but... More

The visit was very informative. I am not an architect buff, but I was glad I visited. I learned a lot! I will return, I found it that interesting.
