Huge place for hiking

Beautiful sunrises, lots of animals, plants, streams, swamps and trees. I didn't care for the mosquitoes.

We have visited Circle B Bar Reserve twice now. The Shady Oak trail is absolutely gorgeous! We saw the biggest gator we have ever seen although we could only see about a six foot section of it's tail. Take a bike or just hoof it for some exercise. Go early enough to visit the nature center and take the kids... More

We arrived early and spent a couple of hours walking along the east side of the park next to the lake. We ventured out on the boardwalk/covered gazebo over the lake and saw all kinds of wildlife, herons, gators, osprey, pelicans, etc. Further along the trail we also saw some nesting herons feeding their young. My other reason for going... More

A wonderful wildlife experience! We spent a few ours there with our kids( 6 and 4 years old) especially the little one is not crazy about hiking and she loved it. We saw so many alligators, bald eagles, turtles... and many other birds. After our hike, we had a picnic at one of the picnic huts. I can only recommend... More

Excellent and helpful visitors' center, well marked trails with first class bird viewing and a large variety of bird life. Also many 'gators and armadillos abound. Highly recommended

We had a great time hiking at this reserve. The trails were very easy to walk, some have shade and do not. You really do need to be aware of animals, there are no fences. We were up close with many gators, birds, snakes, turtles, fish and butterflies. I recommend taking a lunch or snacks and resting in a shady... More

We were in Lakeland visiting family and our daughter wanted to see alligators so we went here. We saw 20-30 alligators, turtles, and lots of birds. It has sun and shade. They also have a nice indoor information center that was kid friendly. She played in there about 30min.

I love this reserve in cooler weather. It can be brutal in the heat. A lot of hiking, or, even better, bring a bike to see everything in a 3-4 mile ride on dirt paths. Lots of wildlife. Lots of gators and tropical birds.

A variety of birds, including sandhill cranes with chicks, and alligators were easily seen as we strolled along the trails. Take water and use sunscreen. Be mindful of the weather you may experience. This was a Monday and the visitor center was closed. Trail maps were available and there was good signage along the trails. The porta potty was the... More
