Grand hotel that's not so grand

Eye sore, need to be removed and then you can rebuild it to look like the grand dame it one was. It's a great old building but need so much work.

We only saw it from the car as we were on our way to Bok Tower. It looked very sad. You could tell from a distance that in its day it was a Grand Dame! Sad that it couldn't have been restored to its former beauty! It totally looked haunted!

This was actually sad to see. Not just the building but the entire main part of town. Made a point to spend the day there during a planned event and the place looked like a ghost town. On a Saturday afternoon there were only a handful of establishments opened. Many closed down retail spaces. Not a very vibrant city although... More

Back in the 60's it was a hopping place but today is just an empty building that needs to be torn down - there is a gentleman trying to restore it but even if it did it would still be a dinosaur. It's time to tear it down and make use of the property for something people would use.

It is on the tourist map to drive by and see. We did, we took pictures and that's about it. It was neat to see a "historic" hotel. I just wished there was a posted sign to let us know exactly what we were looking at. No information any where. Just "no trespassing" signs. Kind of disappointed.

I they don't want to tear it down then they should at the very least make a board it front of the fence with pics, stories and information about what the hotel once was for tourist who want to see it.What looks better what I just said or A sign that says felony trespass. If this town don't do what I... More

Whaaaaat? This is no attraction. It's an abandoned old hotel that needs to be torn down. People have tried to "renovate" the place but like most everything else, government regulations (code) makes it too expensive to do. It should be torn down. But like a lot of "old historic buildings" you have local "purists" who go on and on about... More

Just an old Hotel that should be torn down before it falls down ! People have tried to fix it up but they do not get far. I think the city has considered it an eyesore for a long time !

Nothing but an old building. Can't go in it or near it. Fenced in. Will be cool if they ever get around to restoring it. They certainly shouldn't call it an attraction!!

What's to see here. A bunch of peeling paint and some scaffolding. I keep hearing they are restoring this but lots of starts and stops later....I can't see any improvement. Would make a nice parking lot or community garden spot. Would also work for a new post office as the old one is also approaching "eyesore" status.
