The view from the observation tower was phenomenal . Lots of hiking trails. We took lunch and sat by the river. I'd like to go back to camp.

I just spent a couple nights in the campground and it's a very nice spot. Only 60 spots, all of which have W&E Some smashing, fairly lengthy trails that I would have enjoyed more if they hadn't been so wet, it's very marshy and I was paddling rather than hiking in some places, nice little general store renting kayaks and... It's a drive but worth it in the real "old Florida." Take a short walk to the Cow Camp and see and hear how the real Florida cowboys camped while migrating a herd of cattle. Real actors, very entertaining while gaining real Florida history. Cow Camp usually opens October of every year until it gets too hot.

Most birding literature refers to Florida Scrub-jays near the entrance. As of October, 2014 no scrub-jays have been seen here for at least a year. Expect to walk trails to bird this park. There are a variety of habitat niches to explore. We walked in grassland and birded among the trees near the store, where we had a nice feeding... More

We camped for the weekend in a camper. The campsites have privacy, picnic table and fire ring with grill top. We also had water and electric hook up. The sites are described pretty accurately on the reserve America website. The mosquitoes were a little harsh at first dark but didn't last long. This is to be expected though in the... More

Enjoyed the park. Camped there for 3 days. Sad that the trails were all flooded, but this is Florida!! Nice relaxing time bike riding, kayaking in the lake. Sitting and enjoying ice cream down at Jeff's store located on lake. They offer kayak rentals and Segway tours. Call ahead to make sure trails are open!! Jeff is an honest man... More

Always bring your bug repellent, and always make certain your pet has a flea and tick collar. We camp in a 27 foot travel trailer, along with 2 small dogs. While camping, our passions are hiking, biking, photography, and relaxing. Over the weekend of March 15th, 2014 we camped at Lake Kissimmee State Park. Beautiful weather matched a beautiful park.... This is a great place to visit. Plan to go on the weekend when the cowboys are there. They are great. The campground is very nice and the restrooms very good. The park is a great place to star gaze! The hiking trails are well kept and easy to hike.
