The Depot Museum was a treat for two tourists who are interested in Florida history. It is filled with doll houses, furniture, toys, tools, clothes and artifacts from the early to mid 20th century. We left with a good sense of how and why the town came into existence, and had a good time looking at the collection. $2.00 donation... More

My wife and I would like to express our thanks for a lovely visit to the Lake Wales Depot Museum yesterday where the guide (Mimi) brought to life the paintings and exhibits on show. We were impressed by her tales of how the museum came into being and of some of the local history.

The Lake Wales Depot Museum & Cultural Center is a true treasure! The city is just over 100 years old, and much has happened in these few years that is well worth knowing. The history begins with the Native Americans, the cattle industry that fed troops during the Civil War, and turpentine production back before it became a town. There... More

My wife and I had a wonderful guided tour through this once-upon a time train depot. Seriously, amazing. The collection of valuable things, from all walks of Central Florida history, is unmatched in the area of Lake Wales. We saw a room filled with Native American artifacts, many things even from other tribes outside Florida and the Southeast. There was... More

This small, but worthwhile stop was packed with history and some fantastic Native American artifacts. The N-guage railroad train was unique and fun to watch. Take your kids!

I love trains so the caboose was what I wanted to see. When we got there the lady started telling us all about the place and the art and the history and Wow! She made the place! Very small, lovely stop, very informative.

Went to the Lake Wales Depot Museum as a road trip from Orlando and for only $2.00 spent hours with a terrific lady who made history real. Mini is the founder of the museum and probably responsible for collection of the many pieces in the museum. She walks you through the museum where you see Indian, WWII, train, dolls, and... More

There is so much to see in the museum that really shows us what life was like many years ago. We liked the paintings as you first come into the museum. Very nice.

Some interesting items and trains on display. However, the town was founded about 1918 and grew in the 1920's until the depression of 1930's then just coasted until today ... some nice art works and a reasonable admission price gives you access ...
