Would go see if you are in area but I would not recommend long travel to this area. I am not sure it is spooky maybe for young children. Stayed about 3 mins.

We couldn't get this to work - could be because we were in a large high SUV. Our host told us we should have looked in the rear view mirror as we coasted backwards, which we didn't know before we tried this. Need to do it again sometime.

I grew up going to Spook Hill every summer as a child. It became a tradition to bring the youngest children to the hill every family reunion. While the hill itself is interesting, exaggerating the story late at night was what made it fun. It's a classic old Florida spot and if you are in the area, hey it's a... More

It is true your car will go backwards on this road at the right spot if in neutral. It is a little strange but far from spooky. Just a novel thing to do if in the area.

With all of the high tech experiences kids get in this world, Spook Hill is a must-do if you are in the area. Where else can you magically experience rolling backwards up hill? No special gadgets required; just sit in your car and put it in neutral. Not a fun filled energetic afternoon, but it does generate some interesting scientific... More

Not much there, but its an old Florida attraction. If your in Lake Wales its worth stopping by. Optical illusion makes the car go back up the hill on its own. The kids love it. Mine have been going since they were little. On our last trio they still wanted to go (now 23 n 25 Years old)

So where is the spooky hill? In a little spot near Lake Wales. We went/passed through twice to make sure we "feel" this magnetic field that pulls the vehicle against the pull of gravity. But what I experienced was near dizziness instead. So, duh. This is one of those little places that you can tick off your list without really... More

No, Newtonian physics (I'm talking gravity here) laws will be obeyed. However it is easy for our senses to be "fooled" by what they perceive. Or, in Latin: Sapiens nihil affirmat quod non probat! Since Spook Hill is just a few miles from Bok Tower and Garden, it was a humorous side trip.

I drove to the white line, put my car in neutral, and it immediately began to go backwards, as if going uphill. And we went faster and farther than I thought we would. I would not make a special trip just to try this for 3 minutes, but we had just visited Bok Tower and Gardens, and Spook Hill is... More
