The place is set on beautiful grounds. It is well attended but I never felt it was crowded. The big disapointment however, came from the canned music coming from the carrillon. Although they have two daily concerts, at least when I went, all that one could hear was a recording coming out of the bell tower. Very disapointing... more

Stand on a real hilltop and look down on the rest of Florida, and up at this incredible tower that looks like it came from a different world. This is an experience that is difficult to describe. Definitely not Disney World! We went for a moonlight recital, and I kept waiting for a knight to come riding up on a... more

While this is a lovely setting it is very much natural Florida flora and for the $10 price of admission, I think I'd rather stroll around in any of several state parks in the region. $20 for two people to have a quick picnic, walk through the 'gardens' and listen to the bells was just a bit much. There is... more

Decided to visit here because of its proximity to where we are staying in Davenport and were pleasantly surprised! A beautiful estate with old Florida charm. I am from the NE and somewhat anti-Florida, but this garden has changed me! It was not at all crowded and the breeze blowing through the trees was glorious. While the adults oooohd and... more

This place has a serene, almost otherworldly beauty about it -- difficult to describe. As a native Floridian, I found it wonderful to be able to be in my home state and find a place where you can look out and see -- actual topography. Rolling hills in the distance carpeted in well-manicured orange groves. The gardens themselves are immaculately... more

Lake Wales is in the middle of nowhere so you'll need to make a special drive to get here. It's worth it. The bells were only so-so, played live at 1pm and 3pm daily. You can't go into the tower itself so that's also a disappointment. But the smell -- jasmine and orange blossoms simultaneously in bloom -- heaven. The... more

Far from the hustle and bustle of Disney World, and a much welcome break. For a quiet and relaxing day this is a must. The gardens were of a very high standard a credit to the staff. The tower and concert were beautiful. Enjoyed a nice lunch on the way out. All in all a lovely drive out and well... more

I enjoyed this peaceful adult oasis just miles from Orlando's theme park overload. Beautiful winding paths through the gardens. I marvel at the Carillon tower. The house visit was fair but not a must see. The Carillon cafe was acceptable; fresh sandwiches. This attraction is not for children unaccustomed to appreciating the beauty of nature. more

Not Disney-- thank goodness for that!! The gardens and view are beautiful, though it has been several years since we were last there. The peace and quiet are indeed a welcome relief from anything as unpleasant as Disney World. more
