I have been travelling to Central Florida for more years than I care to remember, but had never visited Bok Tower and Gardens before. My wife and I decided to spend a day there, and we were very pleasantly surprised. It is just so peaceful, and relaxing, as well as being beautiful. A day very well spent!

I was not familiar with the history of the gardens and tower before visiting. I was very disappointed that you cannot actually enter the tower, which is the focal point of the park. The bell music coming from the tower is a recording, and weak. I was greatly disapointed by this. The staff did not seem particulary familiar with the... More

Bok Tower Gardens is a very serene, natural experience. The gardens are not overworked and many of the paths are mulched, not paved. Even a few dead trees have been left as habitat and many of the plantings have been done to encourage butterflies and other wildlife. No stiff rose gardens or gaudy statues. Pinewood mansion adjacent to gardens was... More

$12 admission fee seems steep, and it does not include admission to the home on site. The cafeteria, though, had tasty food that was reasonably priced. One could even get a glass of wine with lunch for $3. A glass of water was 25 cents.

We saw the Bok Tower and Gardens in a tourist pamphlet in Orlando, and decided to strike out from Orlando to make a visit. It was about a one-hour drive south of the theme parks. Who would have expected a tall beautiful chime tower out in the middle of rural Florida, in the midst of orange groves, built by the... More

We decided to visit this place in search of something different from the ordinary. We were not disappointed. We had originally intended to visit Harry P Leu Gardens in Orlanded but opted for this after doing some research. The location is about an hour and a quarter from our hotel on International Drive, Orlando, near to Haines City. The gardens... More

If you need a break from theme parks and want a little tranquility try here. A great film to set the scene before you start, a stroll round the gardens and tower and a tour of the house. Really friendly staff, lovely cafe and a great antidote to the hustle and bustle. A bit out of the way but easy... More
