No characters and no rides. Just a nice walking path. I used to come here years ago and you could walk the entire preserve and see the snakes, armadillos, birds,etc. Now it is a much shorter loop (~3 miles) and not too much to see. My husband and I visited the Disney Wilderness Preserve and were greeted by a very lovely husband and wife who volunteer to watch over the preserve. this place is the best loved every miniute The only downside was sometimes the man on the gate on entry was very abrupt. Only one of them but he was the same every time. All the other cast members were very welcoming. More

"Beginning May 28, 2011, the preserve will be closed on weekends. " It's not exactly user-friendly for those of us that live and work in the area. Very disappointed that we drove 1 1/2 hours and could not get in. More
