Although this can only be accessed by the public when school is not in session (weekends and holidays), it is well worth the trip. There is an environmental study building with many local animal/bird specimens to view and learn about and a butterfly garden right at the entrance. Then there is the boardwalk that goes out into the woods, to... More

My family and I spent the day at the county fair in Kissimmee Florida. It is called the Osceola Fair and such a wonderful fair. This year is the 70th anniversary of the fair, This was our first time there and we will return again. Cost is $5,00, seniors and children $3.00 and parking is free. There is an abundance... More

Due to the very rainy period we visited in, the whole area around the boardwalk was flooded. This was never the case during our previous visits. Not 100 yards upon the boardwalk we spotted two small alligators basking on logs. Very nice. We also saw frogs and lots of lizards. From the viewpoint we could not make out large alligators,... I have been here more than once, It's really interesting for people from parts of the country or world that don't get to see swamps. My friends from Saudi Arabia said it felt like being in a movie. I'm pretty sure it's only open one weekend day per week for the public.

Went there again and and very good viewing of gators (small & large), turtles nad very large spiders.... Unfortunately my daughter Ellen got stung by a hairy object which later turned out to be a puss caterpilar, a venomous caterpillar species. The caterpillar has the appearance of a piece of fluffy cotton, but is the opposite.... But still, the center... More

If you are staying in or nearby Kissimmee, love nature and don't want to drive half an hour to get there, look no further. A small museum with local stuffed animals (incl. Bear, panther, bobcat etc) and a very old but interesting movie. In factbthebmuseumis very similar to a small visitor centre at one of the nations National Parks. Enjoyable!... More
