We were looking for some good Florida beach in the Keys. Trust me, they do not exist; however, this is the best in the Keys outside of Key West (55 miles away) that we could find. The park is extremely nice for the children. Have several bathhouses and plenty of parking space. The beach is there, no crowd, but there... More

A lovely beach. White sand. Grassy areas between street parking and the beach had restrooms, kid playground, and shaded patios. Did I say free?

There are not a lot of beaches along the Florida Keys as you might expect. This beach on Marathon Island is one of the nicer ones. Plenty of parking, playground for kids, bath houses and showers to wash off the salt water. Sand and water nice. Not any waves if you have small kids.

The Keysaren't known for great beaches, but this is one of the better ones, and probably the best in Marathon. The best beach, at least in the Lower Keys, is Bahia Honda State Park, about 15 miles toward Key West. However, Sombrero does just fine. Enjoy !

During our stay in Marathon we visited this beach several times. It is beautiful, clean and not wall to wall people. There's a pier to walk out on and a good length of beach for combing. We loved it.

This place was awesome. Beautiful water, lots of areas to swim/snorkel (because there are rocks and old coral where fish like to feed). The sand was great and it was the largest beach (I think) that is on the Keys. Free parking and lots of it and a playground for kiddos. Picnic areas, changing areas/clean bathrooms, and a dock for... You would think you were on a Caribbean island. It is a really beautiful beach with shallow clear water. There is also ample parking and restrooms with changing facilities.

Sombrero Beach was the 4th beach my daughter and I visited while on our trip to the Keys. The first thing I noticed about it was that it was very busy. It has a nice park attached to it, and quite an expanse of beach. It's on the Atlantic side, so the water is quite choppy with a lot of... More
