The park and the setting at Sombrero Beach are fabulous. Nice white soft sand to sit on, well maintained restrooms, landscaping and playground. But there is SO much sea grass that swimming/wading comfortably is not an option. Even my 10yo son with gills did not go in...... more

Had rented a house about a 15 minute walk away, Very well maintained beach and park area. Always cleaning the area and raking the sand. Water was great and very colourful. No need to go to a State Park and pay a fee more

During the week it was very quiet. The water was amazing. We made the trip from Key largo twice (a little under an hour drive) We loved all the palm trees, play area, ice cream truck guy, picnic tables & bathrooms. more

We stayed at the Sea Dell Motel (which I recommend and have reviewed!) and spent a late afternoon/dusk time at Sombrero Beach in late Dec. 2008. It was a quiet, relaxing, lovely little beach - for both wading (my 2 boys aged 9 and 12 had a lovely time), collecting shells (my husband) and snoozing on the soft sand (me).... more

My girlfriend and I checked into the Sea Dell Motel at around 3pm and needed somewhere to go relax. We found Sombrero Beach and were so glad we did. She walked around collecting tons of shells, while I walked around taking pictures of the beautiful scenery. The beach was very skinny (maybe high tide), but the sand was soft and... more

We visited Sombrero Beach a couple of years ago and decided to hold our wedding there. Soft sand, crystal clear water, picturesque fishing pier. We bought our licence from the County Court Office on Thursday and were married the following Tuesday on the beach - no problems. Whilst my daughter and I were having our hair and nails done, my... more

We really enjoyed Sombrero Beach in Marathon. It is located at MM 50 on the Atlantic side on Sombrero Road. It has plenty of sand beside the ocean, as well as a nice sandy bottom. You can see through the crystal clear emerald & blue water. You can snorkel from the beach and see a variety of fish. It has... more

As a native Floridian, I'm always on the lookout for new places to visit . My hubby and I love taking day trips and the Keys are one of our favorite getaways. I learned of Sombrero Beach while searching TripAdvisor for pet friendly beaches and decided to visit this weekend. The facilities, shower, bathrooms, huts and volleyball courts are indeed... more

Spent an afternoon here with my wife and 2 small children. Glad we found it on Trip-Advisor! The public beaches in the keys can be hit and miss and this one was a hit for sure. Nice soft sand beach, but the water line was crushed shell so bring your water shoes if you can. There was no seaweed/grass on... more
