If you visit this beach and don't like it then you're out of luck. It is by far one of the nicer, cleaner beaches in the keys. The rocks there are good for snorkeling - we found barracudas and sea horses! It was a fun day.

I believed the sand was shipped in. There's still a lot of coral in the area. I'd wear water shoes in the water. It has nice picnic tables under shelters and a bath house. It' s a pretty area to look at the water an dip your feet in.

Beautiful setting with great facilities. Beach and water very nice, but lots of beach grass. Parking easy and plentiful.

Sombrero Beach is in a small residential area. The beach is clean and the waters are crystal clear. It was very peaceful and easy to park, too. The palms offer shade but you might be lucky to get underneath one. This was a truly beautiful spot.l, we will visit again!

Just dont walk on any beach seaweed as it may have baby Portuguese-man-of-war jelly fish and irritate the kids if they contact it Also shuffle in the water to avoid stepping on a Guitar Fish somewhat related to a stingray. They lay on the sand and all you see are their eyes and an ouline of their 2 ft or... More

This beach is OK. It's nothing special really and is more of a residential beach. At least It looks that way. Parking was pretty easy and the sand was soft and fine.

Nice white sand. Large grassy areas and a playground for the kids. Restrooms and showers. Not much shade so bring an umbrella. Don't expect any surf. No good snorkeling from the beach.

Sombrero Beach is a county owned property Oceanside in Marathon Florida. It is part of a wonderful park with a few picnic areas and childrens play area. Plenty of parking available, and clean, well maintained restrooms as well. Well maintained overall.

There are no huge expanses of beach area in the keys because the coral reef keeps the sand from coming ashore however Sombrero beach is a great launching area for kyack launching. There are many trails through the mangroves leading off from the beech. It has a wonderful playground, bathhouse facilities walking trails and palm trees in the sand to... More
