Good Diving, Website Needs to be Improved

Very friendly staff and prompt in responding to emails. They are one of the few dive operators in the Keys that only takes 6 divers. Most dive operators use the cattle boats and... read more

First of all renting dive gear is very expensive in Marathon. Not only here but every where. Renting in Key Largo is much cheaper. Anyway, that's not my main point. The main point is that we went to the shop and they rented 4 full dive equipment's including two tanks of air to us. When on the water it seems... More

We dove over the Labor Day weekend with this operator. I rated them average for a couple of reasons. We are experienced divers and specifically booked with this operator because their site led you to believe that the dives were in 50-80 feet of water. Not so, they are the typical Keys dive center. The closest shallow reef is the... More

Very friendly staff and prompt in responding to emails. They are one of the few dive operators in the Keys that only takes 6 divers. Most dive operators use the cattle boats and load up with divers. My only real complaint is how lacking their website is with necessary information. So I will share some information that their website does... More

Selected Abyss based on prior experience and the promptness and professionalism they exhibited in my email communications about getting my daughter's open water checkout dives completed on our family trip to the Keys. Everyone I corresponded with was female and I thought that might be the best to help her feel comfortable with the process. All the details were worked... More

We were able to book a last minute trip wit Abyss Diving in Marathon, FL. The all woman boat crew including one dive master toys us out and allowed us to dive our plan. We had dove the Thunderbolt earlier in the week with another shop but they were not receptive to our last minute request. This dive requires some... More

We used Abyss Dive Center for a 2 tank dive trip with the family (3 kids, 2 adults). The boat captain was friendly and helpful, especially with the youngest diver.

My wife and I are an instructor and divemaster and have run and worked SCUBA shops around the world. These folks easily rank above the rest! One of the reasons I chose to dive with them was how incredibly friendly and helpful they were when I called their shop (especially in comparison to other shops in the area). Their genuine... More

I am a beginner diver and this was only my second trip diving. Captain Newt and Divemaster Beth were awesome! First, the boat is intimate. There is only room for 6 divers so you don't feel like you are being herded. Also when out on the reef you aren't crowded with people all around you. They gave us the briefing... More

Booked a 2-tank dive, staff very helpful/friendly at the shop. Captain who took us out was very nice, had only 3 divers total plus 2 snorkelers on the boat (one of whom was spearfishing) so was a great small group. Rental gear was in excellent shape, plenty of sandbag weights on board for integrated pouches. At the dive site we... More

My husband and I completed a 2-tank morning and 2-tank afternoon dive with the Abyss Dive Center. Beautiful, newer dive boat - with a maximum of 6 divers allowed. It was very, very nice to have room to spread out and not feel like cattle being transported to market. Capt. Newt was friendly and helpful My ONLY negative comments: would... More
