Best place to snorkel with a manatee.

While I was snorkeling behind the library, a manatee went right by me. The manatees like the fresh water they get next door at the marina when they rince the boats.

If you stay in Islamorada, the entrance is free. Otherwise you'll have to pay a fee to get in. We did not go to the pool or the Marina, so I cannot comment on those. Instead, we went to the beach. Snorkeling was good, and what I loved especially was, that there was a big playground right at the beach.... More

The Olympic Pool is magnificent. What a great facility. If you arrive with your room key, the cost for a senior to swim laps is $2. Do check with office, as time is set aside for teams and classes.

Owner of Islamorda Tennis Club told us about the round robin tennis mixer on Sunday mornings. Greg, who's the pro there and a real pleasant chap, rotates everyone according to ability. Great competitive play with a nice group of locals, snowbirds & visitors. 2 hrs of play, $15. We would do this again in a heartbeat.

We have attended several soccer games at this park and we are always pleased with the cleanliness of this park. Nice little beach, band shell, and pool. The athletic fields are in good shape, well landscaped park. Always a pleasure to come here

I've been coming to Islamorada at least twice a year for about 5 years now and stay very close to "Founder's Park". It is so nice to see the local govt. giving back to the community in this pristine park! Visitors can pay a nominal entry fee which allows access to all but the pool (seperate fee). Great little bay... More

Tennis courts good shape, tiny bay beach with play ground. Well supported by community soccer fields etc. Sometimes flea markets and concerts held here
