So we stopped by here after seeing some reviews. I did see a wonderful iguana take off toward the water. We never made it into the water to try the snorkeling there, but we could see the appeal. It did seem a little deserted when we were there. However, my husband and son used the facilities to change and said... More

This modest little beach park is tucked away behind the Islamorada Public Library. Facilities include an outdoor shower, bathrooms and changing rooms. There is also a playground for young children and a small picnic shelter with a table. It is a small beach on a canal that leads to a bay. Swim at your own risk and watch out for... More

We went to the Islamorada library beach, to take sunset wedding photos. It was quiet and peaceful, but not what we would call a beach. There was a small sandy stretch, that ran along a narrow canal backed with mangrove. While pretty, it was difficult to align photos, with the sunset as a backdrop, that didn't include fencing, wires, and/or... More

My husband and I spend three months in Islamorada and have always been library members here. It's so wonderful to be greeted each year by the smiling faces of the staff here. They go out of their way to always ensure a pleasant experience.

Don't go Herr if you're going for the beach. It's not a beach. It's grass that happens to meet up with water which happens to be connected to the ocean. No waves, no sand for digging, not very appealing. There was a reason this was hard to find, keep it that way Florida commerce dept.

We thought this hidden little beach was beautiful, but you do need to watch out for boat traffic and mangrove jellyfish (non toxic sting but some are allergic).

Oh yes, the ocean, the water color in Key West is crystal clear blue where you can see down the bottom. Turn your head to the gulf side and easily spot some dolphins jumping around in the ocean water. Here’s a great area to go ahead and explore. There are a total of six islands that create Islamorada in Key... More

This was mind-blowing. As a dedicated librarian, I like to visit libraries wherever I go, to see how things are the same and how they are different. This one truly stands out! First of all, the staff were so kind and friendly. I mentioned my interest in visiting libraries, and they not only pointed out what I shouldn't miss -... More
