Daily Mass is a wonderful way to start the day. The Priests are very nice and the homilies are very thought provoking. Beautiful setting with the huge doors opened.

My husband and I were walking and we came upon Saint Mary Start of the Sea, and we were just in amazement of the beauty of the grounds, the church and the chapel. We actually went back a few days later to spend time in the chapel! What a beautiful and peaceful place!

For all Catholics in Key West on vacation don't miss the opportunity to attend Mass at this beautiful gem. Basilica is perfect for this place and Mass on Sunday was even air conditioned.

This church provides a welcoming, as well as spiritual, experience. And their Mass schedule provides several options for worship.

This is a beautiful church with an interesting story about the construction of the church, it's use as a hospital during the Spanish/American war, and later the grotto which was built on it's grounds.under the supervision of Sister Louis Gabriel. It's worth a visit while in Key West.

Key West was hit by the worst hurricane in its history on September 10, 1919. Over 800 people were killed. The exact number will never be known. St. Mary Louis Gabriel, a nun assigned to the diocese, set out to pray that Key West would never bear the full brunt of a hurricane again by building a magnificent prayer grotto.... More

Wanted to attend mass with the family and Saint Mary Star of the Sea made us feel welcomed. Nice to be out of town and find a good Catholic Church and feel at home. Thanks Father!

One nice thing about being a Catholic is that you can attend mass anywhere in the world and you know what to expect. Same with this church. I was not impressed with the architecture or the ornamentation, I have been to much nicer shrines, but it is still always good to attend mass in a new area.

I love to attend Mass while on vacation. The grounds of this Basilica were gorgeous. The grotto was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen.

It is no wonder that St. Mary's is now a Basilica. The first time I attended mass the doors that line both sides were open with light breezes and small birds would fly in and out! I always remember that. Visitors are made to feel at home. The priests are awesome. I also attended a children's weekly mass where the... More
