I thought it was worth the money. The boat is very big, bkfst and lunch very good. Lunch was deli, but it was very good. Crew was great. Fort was pretty cool and so was the snorkeling. All the views from the fort and the boat ride was breathtaking. The only thing was the guy that did the talking on... more

I can't believe some of the reasons people gave negative reviews! This trip was one of the hi-lites of our trip to the Keys and would definitely recommend it to our friends here in Central Florida. The boat was spacious with plenty of room for everyone, the food was great and worthy of the picnic atmosphere of the day. The... more

What a treasure the Dry Tortugas and Fort Jefferson are! We used the Yankee Freedom II as our tour operator and my husband and I were very happy. The other tour operator is a bit cheaper, but the boat is smaller without a top open deck. I enjoyed being outside and being able to look out and down into the... more

Though the trip leaves fairly early (check-in at the dock is 7:30) and it takes 2 1/2 hours to get there, the trip to Fort Jefferson on one of the Dry Tortugas was amazing. If you can spend the money ($160ish per person) and have the time, do it. The breakfast and lunch provided by the ferry was actually pretty... more

First the good. Ferry ride out was great, calm seas, amicable crew, nice sights. Food was reasonably good; bagels, ham and eggs, cereal, juice and milk for breakfast, make your own sandwiches with fruit salad, potato salad, potato chips and cookies for lunch. Great photo ops both on the ride and on the island. Snacks and drinks were reasonably priced.... more

I don't really know anything about the other ferry that goes to Ft. Jefferson, but the Yankee Freedom II was a great way to get to the Dry Tortugas. Included in the price of your ticket is breakfast (bagels, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice), lunch (stuff for sandwiches-ham, turkey, pbj, chips, potato salad, cookies and cokes), an optional guided tour of the... more

If you can rise and be on board before 8 a.m., this boat ride to Dry Tortugas National Park is well worth it. The day we went was ideal, with calm seas and sunshine. I was a little concerned with the possibility of sea sickness, as this was my first trip of any distance (over 60 miles) on the sea;... more

I'd recommend this trip for somebody who really wants to see Fort Jefferson or likes long boat rides, but not really for great snorkeling. It is a safe place for kids to swim in shallow water with coral and some basic fish to see. But, you pay for this with 5 hours on the boat versus 4 1/2 hours on... more
