My wife and I just happened to spot the museum and stepped in for the tour. Retired Chief Eddie Castro spent the next 90 minutes passionately sharing his immense wealth of knowledge related to the department and Key West in general. We came away thrilled we had stopped and highly recommend it for anyone with an interest in the history... More

Great historical original Key West firehouse and museum tucked away in a quiet part of the island. Lots of firefighting history and the 2 retired firefighters who established and run it take a lot of pride in this place, and they deserve it for saving some of the history of the Island and the brave men who protected it! Kudos... More

As a retired firefighter, I thought this would be interesting. The museum is very well maintained, ad the tour was given by a retired fire chief. He not only talked about the history of the department, but history of Key West, as well. This tour would be interesting to retired fire and those who are interested in firefighting. The tour... We showed up later then planned and museum was closed. We were about to leave when the retired fireman "on duty" waved us over and said he had to hang around a little later then expected so he unlocked the door and let us do a quick tour. He was an exceptionally friendly man who left us with warm impression... More

Off the beaten path, but worth the visit. We got a guided tour and learned a lot about the early days of firefighting. Definitely worth the visit.

Not a bad place to visit, especially if your a firefighter and like to see an old fire truck, turn out gear, and other fire fighting equipment.

My husband and I go to Key West every year. This year we drove by the firehouse museum and decided to stop in. To our surprise, we were given a personal tour of the place by a retired fire chief that worked at that very fire house when it was functioning. The chief had several stories and interesting facts not... More

Our friend dropped us off here. He's a lifetime supporter of the museum. We had a tour from a former Fire Chief of the firehouse. It is not one of KW's hot spots so tours are usually very personal. We learned so much and really enjoyed ourselves. We contributed some $$$ and glad we die.

Loved the fireman giving the tour and chatting about the city. They are happy to tell you the history and all the volunteer hours that have made up and completed the museum.

Being newly married to a firefighter, we definitely had to stop by the Firehouse Museum while in Key West. It was such an in depth tour provided by Key West's very own retired fire chief. It is a bit of a longer tour, for a smaller fire house, you'd be amazed at all the information they have in there! It... More
