Change inevitably comes with time, and after many decades the heirs to the Porter family sadly closed the legendary family museum for tours and sold the Key West Heritage House in 2010. it is a small tour of the 4 rooms downstairs and the garden but it is nicely furnished and very interesting for what it is. The Robert Frost cottage is adjacent although not open for touring. The staff is stremely knowledgeable about the museum and Key West history. More

If you've done many historic home tours, you will find this one unremarkable. It's not bad, but you're not likely to learn anything you don't already know. The tour guide was exceptionally enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the house is interesting, but it's nothing special as these things go.
