Owner description: Tropic Cinema is South Florida's only nonprofit multiplex cinema screening 1st-run indie, foreign and documentary films and Hollywood blockbusters every day. With 4 theaters, state-of-the art projection services and the best concessions stand anywhere (we serve wine and beer and drizzle our popcorn with 100% melted butter), it's no wonder Florida Monthly magazine named Tropic Cinema "Florida's Best Cinema" for four consecutive years.

What an adorable little theater with a classic feel. The only other option in the keys is a chain theater which seems overpriced and underkept and Im not sure why anyone would go there when we have this gem in town. The selection is limited as far as brand new movies but they also host a lot of other films.... More

The Tropic is a non-profit that many locals, like myself, volunteer at because we all love the experience there. First off, films we'd never get to see at one of those large theater chains: Independent and foreign films, documentaries, retrospectives, special events. Then there's the popcorn made with healthy canola oil, real butter and a shelf full of free fixings... More

When in Key West it is always worth a visit to this cinema to see a movie. The movie house always has a good selection of movies and times. It is clean and nicely decorated inside. There is a concession stand to purchase the usual snacks including popcorn. You can join the cinema and purchase tickets at a discount but... More

An old style movie house that shows a variety of old/new films as well as current once. Oh yea, a bar that allows you to enjoy a cold one while watching.

Seating is very comfortable; air conditioned, excellent atmosphere with places to sit in the lobby with tables and chairs. Wine or beer to sip during show; popcorn and other goodies. Locals volunteer at the theatre and get free passes. Great place!!

Not your typical, big chain movie cinema. It's a fun, retro-style, small Key West movie theatre with popular & off the beaten path films. Many award winning films from the Sundance & other Festivals are shown here. Pictures of famous movie stars & films line the walls and a statue of Marilyn Monroe outside the theatre on the sidewalk, shows... More

Wonderful theatre! It's a large theatre, with a local feel to it. The concession stand has a great variety and the prices are very reasonable.

This lovely little theater is convenient, clean, and has a bar available. It always seems to have the movies I want to see. Saw "The Judge" recently. In walking distance and located in Old Town is really nice.
