Description: Tropic Cinema is South Florida's only nonprofit multiplex cinema screening...
Tropic Cinema is South Florida's only nonprofit multiplex cinema screening 1st-run indie, foreign and documentary films and Hollywood blockbusters every day. With 4 theaters, state-of-the art projection services and the best concessions stand anywhere (we serve wine and beer and drizzle our popcorn with 100% melted butter), it's no wonder Florida Monthly magazine named Tropic Cinema "Florida's Best Cinema" for four consecutive years.

After seeing one movie here, my fiancée and I purchased an annual membership. We were so impressed with the friendly staff, the cleanliness of the theater, and the relaxed/social atmosphere in the lobby. I highly recommend visiting the Tropic Cinema.

This unique and comfortable theater is a nice sanctuary from the heat and party of the Duval area. Well staffed with nice movie theater food fare. First class.

Steps from Duval, an oasis of quiet and well tended entertainment. The latest films, food and drinks, staffed by volunteers, with an obvious and earnest atmosphere of devotion to cinema. And when the temp soars (as it's been known to do occasionally at the End of the Road), a nice place to chill and enjoy a quiet time. A true... More

A movie house that has kept the feel of the old movie houses we grew up with. If you have teenage kids they can see a movie while you fill the shopping bag or grab a bite to eat.

We went to watch southpaw which was a great film. The cinema is ran by volunteers, you think you are going into an old cinema from the outside but all the facilities inside are spot on. There is a bar so you can take a drink in with you, which I am not used to being a Brit, you can... More

When we're in Key West, we hardly ever miss a movie there. It's fun. It's kitschy. The theaters are small and intimate. There are about 6 theaters in this historic cinema and none of them probably seats more than 50 and a couple of them less than that. You can get beer and wine and take it into the theaters.... More

What an oasis this theater is! I attended several film showings during my visit to Key West. Partly because I love film, and partly because Ed and John were so welcoming to me. What a gem this theater is for the Key West community and for travelers. It is beautiful appointed and worth a visit just for the art deco-inspired... More

The Tropic is a great place to go to the movies! The popcorn bar is fun. A choice of adult beverages is offered. A nice variety of mainstream and Indy films. The Tropic is manned by local volunteers who are really nice people. AND it's clean! No sticky floors😎

A great piece of old Key West. Enjoy movies the way they were meant to be seen - with a cocktail in an intimate theater!

Enjoyed our movie in this intimate theater. Cool break to the hot afternoon. Staff of volunteers very pleasant. Little steep for a matinee ($9.50) but worth it.
