It was just my husband and I kayaking w/ Dr Jeff ___ PhD in Marine Biology. Jeff explained the different ecosystems of where we kayaked and the biology of the mangrove swamps. Pretty technical, but fascinating.

Did the half day eco snorkel, kayak and sail with John on the Java Cat. It was beautiful and relaxing. Motored out for about an hour before kayaking for 40 minutes or so. John was very knowledgeable about the different species of animals and birds in the mangroves. We learned a lot! Then we enjoyed a snorkel - saw plenty... More

We booked the kayak/snorkel trip on the Java Cat - maximum 6 folks - which was very nice. Andrew was our captain - very friendly, patient, informative and fun. We had beautiful weather and calm seas so the water visibility was great in many spots. We were lucky to see 2 mating loggerhead turtles in deep water - amazing. Mule... More

We loved it so much we came back for seconds! My family of 4 were picked up early, took a short drive up US1 with several fun couples. Before we knew it we were on the water with a really knowledgeable amd friendly guide, Tortuga Jack. We visited mangrove channels, jellyfish gardens, and saw a hawksbill juvenile sea turtle. The... This was one of the best sunset cruises ever. The catamaran only took 12 people instead of the crowd that they usually cram onto one of these types of attractions, ergo a smaller boat which provided a much better experience. The champagne, wines, beers plus they our met cheeses were outstanding, in other words it wasn't just a booze cruise..Jeff... More

We went out on the java cat for a morning of sailing, kayaking and snorkelling. There were only 5 on the trip (max is 6) and the whole trip had a relaxed feeling. We saw quite a bit of wildlife on the kayak including nurse shark, bald eagle as well as many other birds and fish. The snorkel was not... More

This was a great first excursion for us at Key West. Bethany sailed us (family of four) and a couple to a mangrove island where she guided us around pointing out wildlife and natural features of the area. Afterwards, we all snorkeled at a reef in the KW National Wildlife Refuge. Most of us were new to snorkeling and Bethany... More

I wanted to get out on the water and the concierge where I was staying recommended Key West Eco-Tours. One of the boats was the Java Cat, a catamaran, that takes six people. The guy captaining it was extremely knowledgeable and a good host and the trip includes a light snack (which in this case, was him cutting up a... More

Had a great morning kayaking, snorkeling, and sailing with Captain Bethany! She took us to Mule Island (one of the many mangrove islands in the protected Keys area) - on our way there and back, we were saw dolphins. As we kayaked around and into the mangrove island, we saw a nurse shark as well as a bonnethead shark. There... More

We were in Key West for spring break with myself, wife, two of our teenaged daughters. They selected this and we booked it in advance (which is recommended since they do book pretty solidly). We wanted something that was geared towards the area, personal and private to us only, and fun. We did a half day trip (morning into early... More
