Description: A sunny place for shady people. The Green Parrot is the first and last bar...
A sunny place for shady people. The Green Parrot is the first and last bar on US1, and brings Key West the best live musical acts from across North America. Equal parts honky-tonk, dive bar and local hangout, The Green Parrot defies definition in musical range, decor and drink selections. Voted best live music venue in Florida by Florida Magazine. You'll find everyone at The Green Parrot - from Key West politicians playing bingo on Mondays to boat captains dancing into the night with their "catch of the day."

We were lucky enough to see the Red Elvises play. What a great bar to drink, dance, and have a great time!

No sniveling and known to be the first and last bar on US1. We had a blast on Monday night playing BINGO, can safely say that it's a night I will not soon forget. The bar plays BINGO every Monday night to raise money for a charity, the night we were there they raised 900+ for the ASPCA. Definitely pay... More

3 Years going to the bar on fridays with wife and a friend, but tonight they did not allow my friend in. He said our friend was drunk. Maybe it was becouse the cops were at the door? My friend has problems moving around but was not drunk and they knew it. What shouldI do?

After speaking with our doorman, and our manager who was present at the time of the incident you described, I concluded that their actions were not only totally appropriate, moreover, the situation demanded this response for the safety of not only those directly involved, but others as well. One of the core precepts of being a responsible vendor of alcohol... More

This used to be the best place to dance in Key West, and the music is still good, but they recovered the old peeling linoleum dance floor with some sort of rubber flooring and it's no longer possible to dance. The bar is still filled with smoke, too, even though it's illegal to have smoking unless 3 sides are open... More

I am probably the exception to the rule in rating this bar. It is VERY POPULAR... so much so that you need to get there at least an hour before the music starts at 5:30. Standing room only, squeezed into a back corner with no view of the band is not my idea of great fun. But the beer is... More

Always a stop for us when in KW and is always an awesome time. We like to go to watch the musicians perform. I can't remember ever seeing a bad performance. Always top notch performers. A local hangout, but plenty of tourists as well. The service is always friendly and fast too. Whenever I'm in KW I will always make... More

If in Key West this place is definitely worth a stop. Friendly staff, locals, good music, generous drinks, etc. I bought the only souvenir of the trip here.

If you enjoy real, down to the roots, music. You must stop at the Green Parrot. For the past 100+ years, they have attracted top notch, creative, musicians. The music is free and ranges from Soul to NOLO Jazz, to African, to Rock, to Country, and even more. No food except for complementary popcorn. Draft and bottled beer, some wine,... More

During the day, this is a great place to kick off your shoes and sip a beer at the bar with friends. Its laid back and peaceful and you could sit around all day sipping a beer and never be disturbed. The nighttime atmosphere is move lively - live music and dancing and crowds. People aren't trashed like at some... More

Well, sounds like you just about nailed what we do here at The Parrot. We have long considered ourselves as sort of a respite, an oasis of sorts, from the bars on the main street. Like you, I've always felt that there were more than one Green Parrot, depending what time of the day or night you visit. There is... More
