First of all, my husband and I totally cheated; we followed our dive master "Billy" from the crew of the Sea Eagle w/Captain's Corner dive shop. He has been in this ship more times than anyone, diving it on all of his days off! He "discovered" the kitchen on St. Patty's Day and placed an Irish flag inside the cooking... More

Wear a skin or wetsuit. We were marauded by jellies looking like miniature Man-o-Wars, and stinging like it, too! Had to be a million around the area and at every level of the dive (we went to 95') Many huge Barracudas, Angels, Groupers. Nice to see the corals starting to take hols, but sad that the photo tours are gone.

It was hard to see, I'd rather reef dive. I also rather dive with a guide and not just dropped off the boat and told to be back when my air gets low.

We have been looking forward to this dive as a highlight of our trip. It was fun, there is lots to see. We had little or no current, but the trade-off was the poor visibility. It was windy and the trip out to the wreck was rough, especially on a small boat.

I dove this wreck 3 times since it was sunk, and every time is different and awesome. It is a great adventure and a must dive for any advanced diver in the neighborhood.

We wend divinig on the Vandy abot 2 weeks after TS/Hurricane Isaac. it is an awesome wreck to dive. The water was smooth as glass and just the slighest of a current. We went with Lost DIvers and a more friendly and profession shop and boat captain and crew you will not find. They took our gear from the shop... More

Visability is just OK, water temp at depth was 87! Slight current from bow to stern, some nice swim throughs, and some light coral growth. Use nitrox if you can, did back to back dives and saw less than 20% of the ship. Wear gloves, there are some sharp edges and fire coral.

Whatever group you dive with, go the 45 minutes to the Vandy. You will not be disappointed. This boat was sunk for the sole purpose of reef creation and diving. So, in essence, it is for you.

First time on a wreck this big. Really enjoy it. The weather was not so good on top of water, but didn't affect the dive. Visibility was great. I would recommend it to anyone.
