Coming from Pensacola Beach there is hard to find a nicer beach. With that said we love coming to Higgs beach when in KW. They clean the beaches around sunrise every morning to get rid of a lot of the seaweed that has washed up. It has a nice pier you can go down with stairs in 2 locations to... More

This was hands down my favorite beach to go to. The sandy white beach was nice and was not over crowded the water was also nice as there was a pier that we could walk out on to get past the seaweed which wasn't that bad to begin with. The restroom facility were very clean but weren't very big. Overall... More

My husband and I were staying down the street at The Grand Guesthouse. We came to Higgs twice at sunset to BBQ. The beach is clean, bathrooms nearby, and it has a beautiful view. Can't wait to go again.

Not much of a beach area but the water was warm and clear! It's so amazing to us to be able to the through the water since we are used to the Georgia coast!

Don't know about other reviews claiming "manatee sightings, rays, etc,"... (???) as a local I can state with accuracy, that this is a nice beach. Is it Daytona or Maui??? Nope...but it's the Keys...ya gotta love it or don't come-

This beach doesn't have the sea weed problem that most of the other beaches do. There is excellent snorkeling along the sea wall. The beach can get busy but its big enough that it isn't really a problem. We saw manatees, nurse sharks, rays, barracuda, needle fish, parrot fish, hogfish, the list goes on and on - and that was... Key west isn't known for their beaches, so if that is what you are looking for, don't come to key west. For this beach, there are stairs from the pier that let you by pass a lot of the seaweed, but there is also a sign warning about Portuguese man of war jelly fish. We opted not to go in... More

The water was clear and warm. Great sandbars that you could walk way out on. Kids got to jump off the pier. Just a wonderful day for everyone.

Is better than the others (or was during my visit in June 2014). It had the least amount of seaweed on the beach and the added benefit of long peers to go out into the water bypassing the seaweed that was there. Once away from the shore, the water was beautifully clear. I will say that the stairs leading into... More

Finally a beach we could walk into the water without wading thru feet of seaweed. It is rocky here, but we wanted a place we could swim without being smothered in seaweed. Clean, restrooms better than smathers, playground for kids, restaurant on beach.
