The Key West Aquarium is a small, cute, "old school" aquarium, built in 1935. It's an open-air aquarium featuring local fish, sharks and turtles. Kids will enjoy the picking up large hermit crab-like creatures in the touch tank and viewing nurse sharks up close in the ground-level tank. In the back, they also have a shark feeding show. Don't expect... more

I don't have any kids but I felt like one in this aquarium. It is very small but they have a shallow open tank where you can touch horseshoe crabs, conch and urchins. Everyday at certain times they feed the sharks and stingrays so you can watch. There is a little bit of everything here from rescued sea turtles to... more

Although the aquarium is really small, it is worth at least a visit. The admission is not too expensive, and you can find a coupon for $2 off admission in a coupon book. The inside shark tank was cool, and you get to get pretty darn close to the sharks swimming around. The outside shark enclosure was cool too. We... more

Wife took 6 y/o son and they both enjoyed the aquarium very much. They spent a few hours there and felt the price was worth the attraction. more

It isn't going to take up an afternoon, but the Aquarium in KW is a very nice place to go, especially if you have kids with you. The guides do a great job at teaching about the animals they have, and its a great place to get out of the rain for an hour. Its $12 to get in, which... more

I visited the Key West Aquarium on May 5 and have to say it was a very refreshing and educational stop. I was there during the tour, and the guide was outstanding. It was the first time that I ever saw live rays (they are very friendly) being fed and got the chance to pet a nurse shark. Price of... more

My MIL wanted to visit Key West during our recent trip to Florida. There was not a lot to do for my two sons (11 and 5) and they were growing bored until we got to the Aquarium. The touch tank was fascinating, and learning about and watching the sting rays and the nurse sharks being fed kept them entralled.... more

This is one of the original tourist attractions in Key West. It certainly doesn't compare with Sea World, but who needs all that glitz? You do have an opportunity to touch some sea creatures. The guides were pleasant and well-informed. A nice retreat for the kids for an hour or so. more

We had a nice time at the aquarium. We walked in right as a tour began and our guide was quite informative. The last time we visited we didnt even realize there was another side area to the place. Make sure you see the whole aquarium. Just big enough to spend an hour or more if you look at each... more

This is an old fashioned Florida-style aquarium. This is NOT one of those mega-aquariums like in Brookyn, NY, Baltimore, MD or Tampa, FL. However, for the few bucks they charge to get in you'll spend an hour or so looking at the exhibits and enjoying a little education about the marine life (and get out of the sun). Great for... more
