This is a really lovely house to visit. I don't think it has changed much since Hemmingway lived there. The tour guides are really informative and they know their stuff. They were more than willing to answer questions. The cats are super cute and all over the house and gardens. It's well worth taking an hour or so out and... More

Loved this place. A beautiful and preserved historic residence. Learned a lot of things about Hemingway, other people who have resided and visited, and encountered many of the six toed cats.

We loved walking around the Hemingway home. It was so interesting looking at all the rooms filled with pictures, the original furnishings. Also, we didn't know he had such a passion for cats!! The cats that were sleeping and roaming around his home were all distant relatives to the felines that lived there many years ago. You are instructed to... More

nothing really great, the traffic was ridiculous, not worth the wait, but when in key west, this is something we feel we have to see. Do yourself a favor and do something else!

Thank you for writing a review. When winter becomes brutal in the northern states, Florida becomes an extremely popular escape from the frigid temperatures and grey skies, and yes, between that and the normal high season travel in the winter months we experience something we call "in-season," which is very healthy for Florida's economy. Our guests do experience a little... More

Beautiful old house, oozing history. Make sure you take the guided tour, the guide we had was passionate about his subject and entertaining. Top tip - go early, this is an old house with no air-conditioning, and it can get very, very hot.
