The Hemingway Home and Museum on Whitehead Street in Key West is a great site to visit on a cool winter - spring day when the Cruise ships are not in town. Key West has many sites to see, and this Home depicts life of Hemingway at a period of time. The studio where he worked in the back atop... More

Enjoyed getting to know more about Hemingway. He was a handsome man in his younger years. I had never seen pictures of him when he was younger. We loved the tour of the grounds. But most of all we loved all the cats!

The house and grounds are beautiful and quirky and the tour is full with interesting fun facts about Ernest Hemingway life and work. We also enjoyed seeing all the cats that live on the property. Our tour guide, Chris, was enthusiastic and interesting.

In contrast to the dime a dozen souvenir shops and bars on Duval Street, this house is steeped in the history. It was, of course, home to one of the great authors of the 20th century during his most prolific writing years. Informative guided tours are included with admission. The grounds are beautiful too. Cats are everywhere.

52 cats Live in the grounds who are all decendents of Hemmingway's cat snowball...they sort of rule the house and grounds. Nice 40 minute tour by someone who really loves Hemmingway and his stories. Overall, was very worthwhile - great gardens, house, and history lesson....you will get a feel of where Hemmingway wrote and relaxed. Easy and enjoyable!

The cats are great. Their interaction with the guides was great. Very friendly people. Great Bloody Mary's in the resort bar across the street.

I finally made it to Papa's house. It is worth the visit. Unfortunately, it can get really crowded. What a place he had. Gardens are WOW!

Couln't go to Key West without doing the Ernest Hemingway tour. The tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. Very interesting tour - couldn't believe the number of 6-toed cats on the grounds.

Our small group visited this Key West attraction. Being fans of Papa's it was a pleasant surprise that the guides (not mandatory or extra cost) resembled Ernest Hemingway at various ages. We were allowed to tour alone or with a group. The stories told were insightful and interesting. Cats are the main inhabitants mostly polydactyl or extra digits on their... More
