The "museum" (such as it was) is really a beautiful old house with interesting furnishings, including some great photos of EH and his various wives. Mostly terrible artwork on the wall by locals "inspired" by Papa. Information about him, his writings, and his stay in Key West is minimal--you could learn everything you need to know from 10 minutes with... more

Even if you have never read any of Hemingway's work, this is a great place to visit. The history of the old house itself is very unique. We enjoyed the guided tour and liked the way we were free to browse on our own. more

We did not plan on stopping by the Hemingway Museum, but we were so happy we didn't just pass by on the scooter. What an incredibly beautiful home. The essence of Key West living. You can wander through the house or take a formal tour (we wandered and read). The grounds are absolutely stunning (photographers must see the gardens), and... more

My husband and I traveled to Key West, Florida in February 2009. One of the highlights of our trip was the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum. It is located at 907 Whitehead Street in the Old Town section of Key West. Our tour guide provided us with the history of the home and many facts on Mr. Hemingway. The house... more

I expected it to be rather dry, but was impressed by the guide's knowledge and the history of the house. I really felt like I gained some insight into Hemingway's life. more

At $12 per person we felt this tour was too expensive for what it was. Right after paying our money, we encountered "Diamond Dave" on the front porch and he snapped at us in an unfriendly way asking if we wanted a guided or unguided tour. I asked if there was a difference, obviously meaning a PRICE difference and he... more

Wife and I paid $12 each. Our tour guide...Bob from Boston...would not start the tour until we 'OK, everybody get fully in the room and all the way to the right., keep moving'.. WTF!! After we all got 'fully in the room' he stared directly at a young father who was doing his best to contain his two-yr old. Believe... more

At twelve dollars per person, this attraction was overpriced. Still, it was enjoyable and educational. The numerous cats lounging around the property were fun to see, and it was great to learn so much about Hemingway's life and see several of his possessions, such as what books were in his personal collection. more

We visited the property just after Easter along with my two young (well behaved) sons, 6 and 2. I'm not easily offended, but when the tour guide joked that he only liked kids grilled I should have paid attention. He literally excluded us from the tour by closing the rope to block access to the room on us. The second... more

Visited over Memorial Day Weekend - it was quite busy. The home itself is very beautiful. Cats are a huge plus (if you like cats, of course!). My daughters and I like cats so the cats were a bonus for us. At $12 it is worth it - if the price goes up I would skip. We did the self... more
