We spent an enjoyable couple of hours here. The guide told us lots of interesting things about Hemingway and you could envisage what his life was like. We were going to go round on our own but so glad we didn't. You find out a lot more on the guided tour. She was very knowledgable and told us lots of... More

I started my tour of Hemingway's homes in September 2013, with a visit to Finca La Vigia, his incredible residence outside of Havana. That is, despite the strife that's gone on around it, incredibly kept and maintained, with most of the rooms furnished with Hemingway's own furniture, as the house was sold/donated/confiscated (depending on whose report you believe) and was... It is a beautiful house that has been well preserved on well maintained grounds. The cats roam the property. Hemingway cats are famous for being polydactyl, meaning they have extra toes. They look like they are wearing little booties on their paws. To get your money's worth, go on a tour! The tours are every 15 minutes and last around 30... More

Gives a good insight into the history behind the man. Good value too like all the other sites around the area.

Exceptional guide brought the home to life - knowledgeable and fun, the kids enjoyed the tour as much as us! Pretty gardens. Rooms painted an excellent picture of the way Hemingway lived, particularly the bedroom and his writing room.

You really have to be a Hemingway fan to enjoy this home. Problem is, it's considered a "tourist stop" and was completely PACKED when we visited. I felt like they would be laughing all the way to the bank with how much money they rake in everyday. We arrived at 4:30 (only 30 minutes before close) and we were pretty... More

Thank you for writing a review. We and all of Key West have been very busy during the spring break period and with all the snow storms up north many more have found Key West a very desirable destination to exit the winter chill for a break in the tropics. We strive to provide ALL with access to the attraction... More

We thought we would just stroll through, but waited for the guided tour. I am so glad we did. Our guide shared tidbits we had never heard. If you have ever read Hemmingway, you need to go. Go early..we were there at 9 am to beat the crowds coming off the cruise ships. It was also cool and very pleasant.... More

There was a line to get in to the home but it was worth the wait. Our first tour guide spoke very quickly and was hard to understand so we left that tour and went around the home on our own. Then we went on a tour with another guide and learned much more about what we had seen. The... More
