Well-preserved place with a whole lot of cats over on Whitehead Street across from the old lighthouse. Just a great piece of old Key West … a walled, shady piece of the rock. Well worth a look whether you are a Hemingway lover of not. Spend some time, close your eyes and put yourself back in the days of yore... More

Yes, there are hoards of tourist. Yes, you have to wait in line and pay an entrance fee. But, when Hemingway is one of your favorite writers. . . truthfully, there is something magical about purchasing the short stories, finding a spot way in the back by the edge of the pool and reading a few pages of "The Short... Have been to Key West many times and never visited the Hemingway Home. I loved it and will do it again when I return. The history of Ernest Hemingway and his time in Key West, was very interesting. Almost all the furnishings were original. Ton's of Ernest's possessions. My favorite part was seeing all the cats on the property and... More

What a nice experience. I started to read Hemingways and was very cool to visit one of his home and discover part of his life in key West. 26$ for 2 adults was worth the price to learn about Hemingway's life. Not a good place to visit if you're allergic to cats. 17+ cats full time , living on the... More

A must for everyone! Just a minute up the road from the Southern most point and across from the old light tower. I was so impressed and taken away. I felt like I went back in time...great tour guides. Do not forget to tip them as they make it interesting. Plenty of cats that have descended from Mr. Hemingway's original... More

A must see! We had a very knowledgeable tour guide who was a retired English teacher. So much to learn about Hemmingway's life and worth the money.

My second time here (visited twenty years ago as a graduate student), this time with the kids, and was given some amazing information by Stan who gave our group a tour of the house! The kids loved the six toed cats (was a given!) but were also taken by the expense of building the swimming pool ( a whopping $20000... More
