At twelve dollars per person, this attraction was overpriced. Still, it was enjoyable and educational. The numerous cats lounging around the property were fun to see, and it was great to learn so much about Hemingway's life and see several of his possessions, such as what books were in his personal collection. more

We visited the property just after Easter along with my two young (well behaved) sons, 6 and 2. I'm not easily offended, but when the tour guide joked that he only liked kids grilled I should have paid attention. He literally excluded us from the tour by closing the rope to block access to the room on us. The second... more

Visited over Memorial Day Weekend - it was quite busy. The home itself is very beautiful. Cats are a huge plus (if you like cats, of course!). My daughters and I like cats so the cats were a bonus for us. At $12 it is worth it - if the price goes up I would skip. We did the self... more

I agree with the last reviewer. The tour is interesting and it is great to learn about Hemingway but the real interesting part of the visit is the wonderful cats! more

Not only is there alot of history and beauty to this property, but if you are a cat lover you must visit! The house is gorgeous with a big wrap around porch and landscaped yard, but the cats are the real entertainment. They are well taken care of with food and water all over and they are so content, happy... more

I did not expect much from this tour. I actually thought I would be bored. What a surprise! It was a wonderful tour with great stories from the tour guide about this man, his family and his life. Definitely take this tour! It was one of the highlights of my visit to Key West. more

The Hemingway House has become an expensive tourist trap. The house itself seems to have significantly declined and is in need of restoration and a good cleaning. As others have said, if it were $5, it would be worth it, but for $12, go somewhere else. more

Admission was $12 for adults, but you can save $0.50 if you buy them online in advance. Once you pass the admission booth, you are free to wander around until your tour starts. The tour lasts about 40-50 minutes. Our tour guide was "Boston" Bob Smith. He was nice and I'm sure he is one of the most knowledgeable of... more

The Hemingway house is a must see if you get to Key West. He lived here for about 10 years and they have lots of information on him. Get to the house early. We got there about 9:30am after an early breakfast at Blue Heaven and we walked right in. When we walked out, there was a huge line. The... more

The thour through Hemingway's home in Key West is just at the right level. It takes about 30 minutes and mixes facts with anecdotes in a pleasant way. You get a good grip of Hemingway's life in Key West without diving too deep in the details. Basic background knowledge is quite sufficient to enjoy. Of course you can hear that... more
