I had low expectations prior to taking the tour of Hemingway's home in Key West but I came away from my visit with a new appreciation for Hemingway and his life. Some people are clearly there to see the six-toed cats, but the grounds are beautiful and it had some interesting surprises. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about... More

We did not take a guided tour, but it was very interesting to walk around the house on our own. Ernest Hemingway was a very special person and walking around the house made him and his personality came back to life. The architecture and decoration of the house is beautiful and the cats that are walking freely in the house... More

You'll love this.....his house is not what I expected but a great little tour....if your not allergic to cats. The grounds are nicely kept and the house tour is small but interesting. His "studio" above the garage is where I envision him spending most of his time.

To see where this great American author wrote many of his best known works was truly inspiring. Also, being able to tour a historic Key West house and grounds was worth it. I was surprised at how comfortable it was in the house with only fans and no AC! The gift shop is excellent.

Honestly, having never read any of Hemmingway's works, I wasn't super excited about seeing his home and museum, but I'm so glad I went. He was a fascinating man who lived an extrordinary life. The tour guide really knew the facts about Hemmingway's life, wives and home and did a wonderful job conveying it. He seemed truly interested in sharing... More

Thank you very much for your excellent 4-star review! We are glad to hear that you had a very informative tour guide. As you probably know, Hemingway met his 4th wife Mary in London, she was a correspondent for Time magazine in London at the time. Great to have that connection with the United Kingdom through the life and times... More
