Small but interesting place, right off a main road. Fun and informative information across a variety of topics. You can plan a trip there, or take it as a opportunity option. Gives you more of a feel for old Key West.

Visited on 3/27/14. We popped by because we (well our two kids) really wanted to see Robert the Doll. Well, we did too! We were greeted by staff member Christina Sloan (who is very cute by the way - can we come back to see you?). When we found Robert, the kids were totally creeped out. They asked permission to... This was quite nice little museum that told history of Fort and some additional topics of Key area. And yes, Robert is there too. I liked to visit here even there is not SO much to see but enough to make still visit there.

This museum is full of history. Robert the doll was fascinating. There are no guided tours for this museum. You just take your time and look at the exhibit displays, the gift shop and the local artist section there at the museum.

Very cool! The grounds were well kept and you can climb the three floors of the cannon building and explore. The roof (top floor) still has the four cannon tracks and the view out over Key West and the ocean is great! The quarters surrounding the cannon building are full of pictures, artifacts and interesting information about a variety of... More

Just stopped by to see Robert the Doll. My friend was rude and irritated Robert. We went back the next day to apologize.

We stopped to see Robert the Doll. Really kind of spooky given the stories we had read. Other than that, not too much going on but we did tour the old fort and enjoyed the nice weather.

It's an interesting place, but not anything spectacular. My favorite things were the famous 'Robert Doll' and the exhibit about a demented lover who tried to recreate his love after she had died. The fort is similar to Fort Zachary Taylor.

This is a little gem that is filled with history and lots of interesting things. Beware of Robert the doll and make sure to see the little play house in the court yard. Very enjoyable and informative. If you are looking for something to do while waiting to board your flight at the airport and you gave yourself enough time,... More

The museum is in an old fort, which is a great piece of history and architecture in itself. The collection of exhibits, taken from Key West's history, is very interesting and informative. The highlight for me was visiting Robert, the Doll, on display in an acrylic case. Unfortunately, there was a group of three very rude people there at the... More
