Good place to see the sunset (and some entertainment)

Get there early to get a decent spot to view the sunset. After the sun sets, stick around to see some of the street performers. The best was the pot belly pig with a top hat.

yes, the sunsets on Key West are spectacular, but the throngs at Mallory Square are obnoxious and the experience is over the top. Find a quieter place to enjoy the end of the day; you'll enjoy it more.

The sunset from Mallory Square was beautiful, despite the many people there. The thing I didn't like was all the people doing tricks and then chastising the patrons if they didn't give tips. One guy actually said to a group of onlookers when he was finished, "every time you don't give a tip God kills a puppy," he was kidding,... More

While on a cruise our first stop was key west. great place to visit. a lot to see and do. Key West has a lot charm and history. Definite place to sit down is at Sloppy Joe's.

Great way to end a day/start the night. Fantastic sunsets and the street performers. Be prepared for the crowds but so worth it

Very touristy but so is all of Key West. The highlight for me was walking along the foreshore at sunset. A great place to view the end of a day with lots of boats to make a visual spectacle.

A must in the evening. Come see the street performers and then clap the sunset down. Performers are for all ages, just make sure you tip after you watch. After the sunset goes down grab dinner on Duval St.

The area of Mallory Square is certainly a " tourist trap "... but it is at least worth a visit once. You can easily spend 3 to 4 hours visiting the shops, restaurants, boardwalk, and dozens of other attractions.. Expect large crowds, lots of traffic and a lot of noise. But it is worth a trip ( at least once... More

It reminded us of the shops and street actors we found at old St Augustine. Lots of lower level shops and inexpensive places to eat. The high point is the view of the sunsets which is priceless. Be prepared to be around a lot of people and at the end of the day the little kids get tired and fussy.... More

Mallory Square is definitely touristy, with its street performers, food vendors, and tchotchke carts, but it's worth a visit at sunset. The vibe is fun and upbeat, there really is some good food (we loved the fresh pretzel braids), and it feels good to support the local art scene. Time it right, and you'll get to see a spectacular Key... More
