Our kids loved the place. We'd go early before sunrise to watch people fishing. Watch the sunrise as well as the many performances (especially Cleo the dog in action!). There were Rontini (Houdini wannabe) and Willie on tightropes. Just bear in mind that some of the performers can be somewhat crude so advise your kids accordingly. more

Went to Mallory Square to check out the sunset and the performers. Its been a while since I went to Mallory Square in 2001 but one of the funniest things I have seen before and since is the man with the troupe of performing cats. Absolutely hilarious. I don't know if he's still there because it was along time ago, but there is a guy with trained cats (!) who jump through hoops! Sometimes they don't feel like it, of course, so wash themselves instead. Great fun! more

Go to watch the sunset at Mallory Square/on the Pier. The crowds pack in and every street vendor and entertainer makes there way to the crowd. If you like loud crowds and lots going on this is the place. It is not a quiet sunset. more

Mallory Square was a great place to watch the sunset and the (human) wildlife. This area was really the only place we saw crafts actually made in the area.
