Blue Planet Kayak invites you to escape to the seclusion of our tropical “backcountry” locales -- only accessible by kayak. More than a kayaking trip; we offer an Eco-Tour Experience! Glide across warm, crystal clear water only inches deep to the shelter of mysterious mangrove islands. Our guides are happy to explain this ecosystem's uniqueness in plants, marine life, birds and natural history.Let us catch marine animals only an expert could find for you to handle and photograph. Learn about egrets, herons and other birds roosting only feet away or prying the flats for food. Geared for any level of paddler, you won’t have to go far to see the hidden beauty that so many have called serene, enchanting, romantic and captivating. We take a maximum of 10 people per guide for a personal experience.

Went with my boyfriend on the sunset tour (november 10th) for our anniversary trip to key west and enjoyed most of the experience. I suggest scheduling a hotel pick up, just remember to bring cash for tip as we completely forgot and it obviously affected the driver's final goodbye's towards us as we sensed a sarcastic tone... We were the... More

We were a small group - just our family of four in two kayaks, along with our guide. We toured through the mangroves, which was so peaceful - I could just tie up and relax there for a couple of hours. Our guide was able to show us a few things, like a sea cucumber, a couple of conchs, a... More

I don't like being negative either but this wasn't romantic or all that enjoyable. Not the greatest kayaks and we had a family with kids arguing the whole trip. Trip was more for kids who should have been in bed. Our guide got fried by key west sun long ago, not that nice or good with tourists. Don't go for... More

Great educational experience. We booked the moonlight kayak tour. Free pick up and drop off at the hotel. Courteous staff. Our guide Sarah made it fun and educational. Fantastic experience kayaking in the dark with our head lamps on. We encountered sea cucumber, sea urchin, horse shoe crabs, tree crabs, jellies and glowing phytoplankton. On the tour, we noticed thunder... More

My husband and I did the sunset/night mangrove kayaking tour with Sarah and it was phenomenal! Sarah was very knowledgable and was fun to kayak with. We saw an octopus, shrimp, horseshoe crabs, fish, lobster, plenty of birds, mangrove crabs and much more! Kayaking through the mangrove canals in the dark with our headlamps was one of the coolest things... More

I hate to write negative reviews but I want people to know what they are getting if they sign up. First, the good part. After dark, it was pretty neat being out on the water. We saw an octopus, (tiny) baby shark, small jellyfish and manta ray. It was very peaceful out there at night. Now, the bad part. It... More

Our first kayak experience as a family and it was fantastic! We went on the sunset starlight and full moon tour which was truly wonderful. We could have stayed out there the whole night, and unlike the punishing direct sun during the day, the evening temperatures and the warm water during July were perfect. Our guide, Chad, was enthusiastic about... More

My husband and I did the Mangrove kayak tour. We saw nurse shark, a stingray, sponges, starfish, jellyfish, and sea urchins. We had some hands on opportunities which prepared us to identify some sea creatures that we saw snorkeling. The mangroves were amazing and the guide shares interesting information about the area and the sea life

Our family of six took the evening tour with Chad, who is clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about this area. A really simple concept, paddling around in shallow water, is brought to life by the sudden cries of 'look at that squid' or lobster, rays, starfish and birdlife. You'll see the Keys from literally a different perspective and whilst you... More

Overall this was a nice excursion - however after doing many of these - it really depends on who your guide is as to whether you will have a good experience. Our guide - Sarah - was knowledgable - just didn't seem to want to be there. We have 3 children - and often felt rushed through the experience -... More
