More than a kayaking trip; we offer an Eco-Tour Experience! Glide across warm, crystal clear water only inches deep to the shelter of mysterious mangrove islands. Our guides are happy to explain this ecosystem's uniqueness in plants, marine life, birds and natural history.Let us catch marine animals only an expert could find for you to handle and photograph. Learn about egrets, herons and other birds roosting only feet away or prying the flats for food. Geared for any level of paddler, you won’t have to go far to see the hidden beauty that so many have called serene, enchanting, romantic and captivating. Our first kayak experience as a family and it was fantastic! We went on the sunset starlight and full moon tour which was truly wonderful. We could have stayed out there the whole night, and unlike the punishing direct sun during the day, the evening temperatures and the warm water during July were perfect. Our guide, Chad, was enthusiastic about... More

My husband and I did the Mangrove kayak tour. We saw nurse shark, a stingray, sponges, starfish, jellyfish, and sea urchins. We had some hands on opportunities which prepared us to identify some sea creatures that we saw snorkeling. The mangroves were amazing and the guide shares interesting information about the area and the sea life

Our family of six took the evening tour with Chad, who is clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about this area. A really simple concept, paddling around in shallow water, is brought to life by the sudden cries of 'look at that squid' or lobster, rays, starfish and birdlife. You'll see the Keys from literally a different perspective and whilst you... More

Overall this was a nice excursion - however after doing many of these - it really depends on who your guide is as to whether you will have a good experience. Our guide - Sarah - was knowledgable - just didn't seem to want to be there. We have 3 children - and often felt rushed through the experience -... More

We originally had another company in mind for a sea kayaking tour while visiting Key West, but after seeing the brochure for Blue Planet in our hotel lobby and that they offered shuttling to and from the kayaking site, we called them instantly to book a tour. Our guide, Sarah, was amazing and took us through mangroves and out into... More

Chad was our kayaking host and he took us on an amazing trip through clear, warm waters and mangrove tunnels. When the sun set, he gave us each a headlamp and we got to experience a whole new set of organisms - including the dinoflagellates that bioluminessed as we pounded our heels on the bottoms of our kayaks! We were... More

My girlfriend and I first decided to use Blue Planet because of their very convenient pickup service they offered with their tours. The brochure said they offered small tour groups but since we booked it on Sunday morning it was just the us and the guide, which was perfect. He catered to what we wanted to see and stuff that... Every aspect of the kayak tour was exceptional. The convenience of a pick up and drop off from the hotel, the friendliness of all staff, kayak quality and the expertise of tour guide Sarah. The best part was paddling in such pristine waters which enabled us to see varied sea life. Meandering through the mangroves is a magnificent wonder of... More

We booked a kayak trip with Blue Planet with my inlaws and two children (ages 5 and 7). They were more expensive ($50/person versus the $40 of other kayak companies I called). We were running late and they waited for us, which was nice. We drove to a shady, "industrial" part of Key West (lots of house boats) and kayaked... More
