Description: Blue Planet Kayak invites you to escape to the seclusion of our tropical...
Blue Planet Kayak invites you to escape to the seclusion of our tropical “backcountry” locales -- only accessible by kayak. More than a kayaking trip; we offer an Eco-Tour Experience! Glide across warm, crystal clear water only inches deep to the shelter of mysterious mangrove islands. Our guides are happy to explain this ecosystem's uniqueness in plants, marine life, birds and natural history.Let us catch marine animals only an expert could find for you to handle and photograph. Learn about egrets, herons and other birds roosting only feet away or prying the flats for food. Geared for any level of paddler, you won’t have to go far to see the hidden beauty that so many have called serene, enchanting, romantic and captivating. We take a maximum of 10 people per guide for a personal experience.

We have done this tour twice (our first time was a couple of years ago) and I am disappointed to report that our second time out was less than exciting. We were picked up at our rental house in a van and the driver did not say a word to us the entire trip to the dock. That made for... More

This is on our recommended list for Key West - nice experience. We took the guided trip - so to get insight to flora, fauna, and history. We were not disappointed. Our guide Andy was great - fun, knowledgeable, laid back. Great day exploring the mangrove islands, but also getting really great biological - eco perspective. Go do this. Nice... More

Whether you are a novice or expert at Kayaking, this 2 1/2 hour trip into the mangroves and bays of Key West is a fantastic 2 1/2 hour education and gives you a better appreciation for our waters. We selected a tandem kayak and had a knowledgeable and experienced guide. Small group of 4 people plus the guide.

The guide was extremely knowledgable about the plant and marine life on the tour. It was a really fun way to become acquainted with what lives in the local waters. We can't wait to go back to Key West to take their night kayak tour. We did a daytime one and saw a giant basket starfish, held a sea urchin... More

My husband and I took the Sunset and Starlight tour on a Thursday night. We were the only two guests that night, so it was very romantic. Our guide was amazing! She was knowledgeable, funny, and made me not fear the ocean! She told us all about how the eco systems work. She also picked up many different creatures and... More

This was a great kayak trip. We did the sunset/evening trip through the mangroves. It was beautiful on the water and the sunset was gorgeous. The evening portion through the mangroves was a little eery but definitely in a good way. Chad is very knowledgeable and a terrific guide. They picked us up from our hotel too, which was nice.... This was a worthwhile trip. Kayak through the underside of key west, through mangroves, see the 'upside down jellyfish' and see some nurse sharks. Also kayak to the cliffs that were made to harbor submarines during the war.

On the advice of a friend, we signed up for the 2.5 hour mangrove swamp tour, and had a great time! The paddling pace was easy, and the tour guide, Andy, kept us entertained by netting sea creatures for us to look at and handle. I would do this again!

This review is based on a family with 2 boys 6 & 8 years old. We rented two double kayaks and had a great start to our vacation. Kayaking through the mangrove tunnels was an amazing experience. It is worth kayaking to the sand bar. Very peaceful with no crowds. Unbelievable view of the sun coming down! Your arms will... More

Overall, a very good experience. We met Katie the tour guide off-site and followed her to Stock Island. Their "office" is in a run-down area where a dog from a local business relieved itself on the dock. But once we left the dock, the tour was a lot of fun. We toured the mangroves and open waters. Katie did her... More
