Owner description: Blue Planet Kayak invites you to escape to the seclusion of our tropical “backcountry” locales -- only accessible by kayak. More than a kayaking trip; we offer an Eco-Tour Experience! Glide across warm, crystal clear water only inches deep to the shelter of mysterious mangrove islands. Our guides are happy to explain this ecosystem's uniqueness in plants, marine life, birds and natural history.Let us catch marine animals only an expert could find for you to handle and photograph. Learn about egrets, herons and other birds roosting only feet away or prying the flats for food. Geared for any level of paddler, you won’t have to go far to see the hidden beauty that so many have called serene, enchanting, romantic and captivating. We take a maximum of 10 people per guide for a personal experience.

When we arrived in Key West by ferry, this tour was recommended to us. Normally, I review tours before going on them, but the man at the ferry dock said this company was owned by a friend of his and was a good tour. The man groves sell themselves, but the rest of the tour left us disappointed. The location... More

We took an afternoon kayak tour of the Boca Chica Channel with Sarah. It was fun and interesting. Sarah scooped several creatures from the shallow waters and allowed us to see them up close and even hold a few of the harmless ones. We saw a crab, a jellyfish, 2 different sea stars, several conchs & a slug looking sea... More

This was the most entertaining kayak tour my husband and I have ever been on. Our guide, James, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and funny. I think it was the best tour because you actually got to see and hold a bunch of marine life. We got to hold in our hands: jelly, two seastars, sea cucumber, three conchs...plus some other... More

My husband and I were the only two on the day trip and really enjoyed it. Our guide James was very knowledgeable and found a variety of sea creatures to show us, up close. They provide transportation from your hotel and back which was very convenient. We thought it was well worth the cost.

Our guide was able to show us starfish, baby nurse shark but the noise from the jets(flying in and out) at the close by Naval Base made it hard to hear him. Noise and vibration of the jets flying low overhead went on for most of the two hour paddle. Would go with another outfitter further away from the base.... More

Went with my boyfriend on the sunset tour (november 10th) for our anniversary trip to key west and enjoyed most of the experience. I suggest scheduling a hotel pick up, just remember to bring cash for tip as we completely forgot and it obviously affected the driver's final goodbye's towards us as we sensed a sarcastic tone... We were the... More

We were a small group - just our family of four in two kayaks, along with our guide. We toured through the mangroves, which was so peaceful - I could just tie up and relax there for a couple of hours. Our guide was able to show us a few things, like a sea cucumber, a couple of conchs, a... More

I don't like being negative either but this wasn't romantic or all that enjoyable. Not the greatest kayaks and we had a family with kids arguing the whole trip. Trip was more for kids who should have been in bed. Our guide got fried by key west sun long ago, not that nice or good with tourists. Don't go for... More

Great educational experience. We booked the moonlight kayak tour. Free pick up and drop off at the hotel. Courteous staff. Our guide Sarah made it fun and educational. Fantastic experience kayaking in the dark with our head lamps on. We encountered sea cucumber, sea urchin, horse shoe crabs, tree crabs, jellies and glowing phytoplankton. On the tour, we noticed thunder... More
