Blue Planet Kayak invites you to escape to the seclusion of our tropical...

Blue Planet Kayak invites you to escape to the seclusion of our tropical “backcountry” locales -- only accessible by kayak. More than a kayaking trip; we offer an Eco-Tour Experience! Glide across warm, crystal clear water only inches deep to the shelter of mysterious mangrove islands. Our guides are happy to explain this ecosystem's uniqueness in plants, marine life, birds and natural history.Let us catch marine animals only an expert could find for you to handle and photograph. Learn about egrets, herons and other birds roosting only feet away or prying the flats for food. Geared for any level of paddler, you won’t have to go far to see the hidden beauty that so many have called serene, enchanting, romantic and captivating. We take a maximum of 10 people per guide for a personal experience.

We went on a 3 hour kayak tour to the mangroves just outside of Key West. The Blue Planet people were great. They picked us up outside of our hotel and brought us to the launch area. The group leader was a very knowledgeable individual who was a bit overwhelmed by people who were not experienced kayaking. I would say... More

We are pleased you found the paddle with us to be like a fairyland and our guide knowledgeable. All our tours begin with asking if any customers have not kayaked. If nobody responds we assume they all have at least some experience. After the safety briefing but before we get in the kayaks we ask if anybody has any questions.... More

We took our family of 11 on the evening kayak tour through the mangroves. Chad our tour guide was a jerk right off the bat. I understand when you're trying to run a business, however, customer service should be something at the top of your priority list, and we didn't experience that. He was rude and had an attitude with... More

I am most surprised by this response as your party not only complimented me after the tour but tipped me handsomely. Clearly you have an issue with me personally and it carried over into your criticisms of the tour. Example: if you had listened carefully before we even began the tour you would not have made this comment regarding snakes.... More

The kayak trip with Andy was a great experience in the mangroves - he is so knowledgeable and helped us learn so much. Also lucked out and found a family group of manatees.

My husband and I love the water (well, I do...he just goes along!) and were looking for a new and different way to explore it on our recent visit to Key West. We're moderately experienced kayakers but have never been out at night so we thought we give this trip a go. What a cool experience! Our guide, Chad, was... More

Thanks James for a great "sunset kayak tour". Although the sunset was not stellar (of course you can't control that)..... many other things were interesting and educational for all. James, you went out of your way to make sure the group had a great trip. Some of the things James found and shared with us was a bonnet hammerhead shark,... More

We went on the Sunset and Moonlight kayaking trip whilst visiting Key West. We booked online and left word as we were touring could they let the hotel we were staying in details of time and pick up details which they duly did. Firstly can I say I'm not a very good kayaker and also I'm not keen on deep... More

My husband and I did this and it was wonderful! Our guide Stacey was very knowledgeable and did a great job! She showed us wildlife and told us about the Mangroves and some history in a Key West. Can't wait to do it again with our sons.

We make a habit of doing the sunset kayak tour on every visit to key west. It's a relaxing and serene experience as well as educational. Heading out before sunset through mangrove canopies, visits to bird island for up-close pics of heron and pelican roosting, to headlamps and a handling if some sealife in the flats after negotiating more mangrove... Blue Planet Eco Tours are run by envronmentalists who are knowledgeable and passionate about the Keys and have the uncanny ability to locate unique sea creatures and plants with ease. THe kayaks are new, doubles and singles, they provide life jackets and will even pick you up and return you from your hotels. We have taken other kayak tours, but... More

My husband and I had a wonderful evening tour through the mangroves. We were the only people on our tour (yes!) because it's the quiet season. We are very novice kayakers and so there was some learning curve in getting used to the activity. Andy picked us up at our hotel and was prompt and nice to speak with about... More
