We went on the sunset kayak trip with Blue Planet Kayak on June 11, 2009. We weren't sure what to expect but all of us had a fantastic time. We were picked up from our condo by Blue Planet at around 6:30. When we arrived at the marina we met our guide, Chad, and a couple also taking the tour.... more

Four of us went in three kayaks along with another couple in a tandem. Chris, our guide, was incredible. He knew everything about the environment, and found flora and fauna that the rest of us would have completely missed. The mangroves were like another world. Even a quick shower did not dampen our enthusiasm. You do not need to be... more

We were scheduled to do the night kayaking tour with Blue Planet. When we arrived at the dock to get the kayaks it was lightening and a storm was blowing in. We proceeded to ask about the storm and whether we were going to reschedule and we learned some interested information. We were told that we were not the highest... more

We did a full moon Kayak with Chad, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The group size was small (8), and we were able to see a lot of animals and fish (urchin, lobsters, rays, bat fish, jelly fish, bioluminescence). Chad was very knowledgeable and passionate about the animals and ocean ecology, and he gave us tons of information and answered every... more

We went on a 2-hour kayak tour, which including my husband and I, our 16y/o exchange student, and 3 other women. The skill level was widely varied, and our guide was great at instructing us all on our level. Tandem and single kayaks are available. The guide was informative and knew mangrove wildlife very well, but still made everything easy... more

We booked a night kayak tour for 4. We had 2 tandem kayaks as requested. We kayak quite frequently, living in Tampa, and the thought of kayaking at night really excited us. We were not disappointed!! We learned lots, saw conk, sea stars, urchins, bioluminescence and much more. The kayaking thru the tight mangroves channels was a blast. Chad was very... more

This was a really fun outing. Don't be intimidated if you have never kayaked before. If you are in reasonably good shape it's pretty easy. We had an excellent guide (Katie) who led us around the shallows and under the tangled mangroves. She had a really good eye for spotting native creatures and it was great fun to see them... more

My wife and I had a chance to do a sunset kayak tour with Blue Planet Kayak on 12/22/08. Chad, the owner, was our guide. You start this sunset trip in the daylight, and as the sun disappears, you are stealthing your way through the mangroves with headlamps. If you like being on the water, learning about water based environments,... more

We took the night kayaking trip in late October as part of our 6 day stay in Key West. It was our most memorable activity of the week. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and totally committed to ensuring that we had a good time. We saw shrimp, lobster, jellies, starfish, crabs, urchins, and conches. The most interesting things he caught... more

Had a great sunset/moonlight tour with Chad from Blue Planet and a total group of 8. Chad was very informative and superb at spotting critters in the water at night. His skill at standing up while kayaking in the dark was just as entertaining as the creatures. The group as a whole did very well and for some it was... more
