We took the 11 a.m. eco-tour with Captain Dave last Thursday (February), priced at $49 per person. It was a relaxing 1-1/2 hours on a smooth sailing pontoon boat with six passengers in comfortable deck chairs. We sailed across the bay and saw all kinds of birds. We toured through a couple of mangrove canals, and also some residential canals... More

We had a great trip! The captain was very informative and funny. We saw birds, learned about the mangroves and fossils. Saw a side of Key Largo that you don't normally see! I would definitely recommend this trip! More

Our tour was $50 per person and only lasted a little over an hour. Do not let the captain fool you if you're planning on taking a summertime tour- manatees are nowhere to be found at that time of year in the mangroves because they can't tolerate the water temperature. The only animals you will see in the actual ecological... More

This was a nice pontoon boat ride that lasted about 1-1/2 hours. Was educational. Got to see dolphin whales, other waterlife and learn about trees. Price was low for the experience. More

We read the negative reviews for the Captain Sterling boat trips out of Key Largo but decided to see for ourselves and were glad we did. We toured the salt water area of the Everglades on the Eco-tour, boating through the mangroves and different channels throughout the bay as the other reviewers did. We were lucky enough to see wild... More

We did the evening Ecotour/Champagne Sunset Tour. Our boat Captain, Dave was very knowledgeable and easy to listen to. Yes we did the canal watch for the manatees and saw three of them (who cares where you see them anyway?). The Hemmingway mangrove was nice and the info about the mangrove trees and the sea birds etc. was very interesting,... More

Probably the most expensive scam we've ever done on any vacation. We sat on wet folding chairs on the front of an old moldy pontoon boat. The Manatee portion of this "ecotour" consisted of motoring through the boat passages of a nearby motor home park - no manatee to be seen. Next, we went to "Hemingway's Path" supposedly in the... We had already rented a kayak and went through No Name Key Nature Santuary before going on this tour. I read the other review that it wasn't worth it so we were skeptical. This is pretty much what we did in a nut shell - the "nature" tour first went into the housing canals looking for manatees (the guide told... More

It should have been billed as a tour of the shoreline of Tarpon Basin where you can see some expensive trailer homes and also see some fosils contained in the walls of a shipping channel cut through Key Largo. You will not see anthing more interesting than the mangroves growing beside Highway one. Do not waist your time or money. More
