We chartered the CaraMia with Capt Ryan and he took us out to the light and the reef. We caught a bunch of fish and even though it was crowded, we had a great time there.

We snorkeled here this week and the fish were great. But I'm mainly posting this to alert those that were not aware that the currents can be very strong here and the water very choppy (meaning that they tend to break over you instead of floating on top). We did not know this and we almost had a bad experience... More

Friends took me out on their boat on a wonderful day. It wasn't my first time to the reef. They went diving while I just relaxed in the sun.

We took our friend's boat to Sombrero Reef to snorkel. It was a nice day to snorkel and see some different types of fish. I've been to better snorkeling sites but for a beginner it was fine.

We spent a week in Marathon with our 4 children (16, 19, 28, 31). That's a feat in itself to keep them all entertained equally. Sombrero Key fits that bill. It is a truely amazing experience. We have snorkeled Hawaii and Exumas. This reef is as equally (or better) beautiful. The coral is stunning and the reef fish are breathtaking.... More

It is an amazing beach, with hot and calm water. There is a free parking and good facilities, like restrooms and drinking water.

My husband snorkled while my brother dove and we gals watched them both from the comfort of our boat. This was my first time out here and will definitely come back. It's a beautiful spot and it was amazing how many fish we saw just looking down from the boat.

I went scuba diving at Sombrero Reef, and I had a great time. There are a lot of fish and some other marine inhabitants to see, and it is easy to dive and navigate.

We went on a group snorkelling trip with Spirit to the reef and were really surprised at how amazing the marine life was. We spent the whole 1hr 1/2 in the water and got to see some really great fish - barracuda, parrot fish, angel fish and loads of others that we'd never seen before - having been to the... More
