I have never been snorkeling before and my friends and I were in Marathon on vacation, rented a boat for the day and ran out to this reef to snorkel. We spend about 2 weeks every summer in Marathon with the kids and our boat. We typically spend every weather permitting day snorkeling at either Sombrero Reef or Looe Key. Our family went snokeling at the reef. This experience was so amazing. The fish were beautiful and the water was so clear. We will never forget our vacation. more

I snorkeled in March when the water was only about 74 degrees but still found it to be on par with snorkel trips I had made in both the Virgin Islands and Aruba.
