This snorkel trip was a surprise for me! We have snorkeled and gone diving off of several islands in the Caribbean, and this reef comes real close to being just as good. Don't miss this trip if you are in the Florida Keys! The snorkeling is great! We took an afternoon trip with Spirit Snorkeling and i highly recommend them.

We are locals and go here often. It NEVER gets old!Blue water and COLORFUL coral. Hundreds of species of fish that swim right up to you! Snorkeling or diving is amazing! Ive taken family who have dived all over the world and they have said nothing compares to Sombrero Reef. Most beautiful place ive ever been. A MUST when coming to... More

We were unable to dive at Sombrero Reef this trip because the jellyfish were so thick but WE WILL BE BACK. This is my favorite dive site in Florida.

The reef itself was teeming with life. We saw a small nurse shark, turtle, BIG barracuda, Queen Angles, Parrot Fish and more. The big problem was the massive amount of jellies. 1 to 2 foot waves that day with chop. Some challenges staying away from the jellies. I woman on the snorkel trip that day was stung. Thankfully she was... More

HOW ARE THE JELLY FISH out on the reef? They have been terrible. We do not want to venture out there if they are tons of jellies. Bev

Beautiful place for diving and snorkeling. Limited mooring buoys so get there early. Great to view all the reef has to offer. Stay away from mooring close to the dive boats unless you want to be swamped with newcomers.

I've gone in Maui cancun and California and this is the best. Go with Spirit Snorkeling for a great trip.

We went out on an afternoon snorkeling trip with Spirit Snorkeling. I really didn't expect too much and was pleasantly surprised by both the trip and the great snorkeling. Easy, comfortable trip out to the reef on a large catamaran and lots of fish on a shallow reef. Having snorkeling the day before on an unprotected reef, the difference in... More

We took a trip out to the reef to snorkel. I have only done it once before. Great variety of fish to look at.
