We stayed at the hotel right next to this beach.....very pretty and easy to walk, run or whatever. Seemed to be a favorite of locals as we saw a lot of early morning activity near sunrise. Nice park adjacent too.

This beach, located more toward the northern end of Amelia Island, has a lot of activities that are available without making the place seem crowded or overpopulated. The beach itself is very wide, and offers a nice selection of sea shells, for those who collect. It is also within a few hundred yards of some nice restaurants and other attractions... More

I liked the beach a lot because it had commodities not found at other beaches but then lacked common commodities found at most. This beach allowed patrons to drive their vehicle onto the sand near the shore line and they also allow pets add long as they are leashed. I may have not been to many beaches but I had... More

Went here yesterday for Memorial Day. Main beach has pavilions, a park, concession stands and both public and private showers. Having small children I like to have options at the beach. This was a perfect spot for us. We usually do Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine but I feel like this may be out new spot when we go... More

Everyone told me that Amelia Island was the best beach around and I need not go to any other. I took my family (wife and 2 young daughters) to the beach and we had a good time but there were lots of shells that made walking pretty tough withouth hurting your feet. The next day we went to JAX beach,... More

Due to the older residences in this area it is like going back in time; however, if you are tired of walking the beach in front of high rises, this may be the place for you. People like to walk this beach and look for shells. There is free parking available, along with bathrooms and showers. Usually a life guard... More

I was surpised that the beach was not very busy. The area was quiet and very inviting. Great for strolling and collecting seashells. Lots of older homes and condos along the beach but thats what gave it charm. There is no board walk or lots of shops or restaurants. That was the major draw back. Besides that I would go... More

Amelia Island's Main Beach area is pretty dismal. The beach is fine but it is fronted by lots of older beach rentals, many in poor repair. No high rise hotels or condos mind you, but two or three story homes. We were hoping for much more. Go to the beach inside Ft. Clinch State Park by the fishing pier--much more pristine... More

I walked for 2 hours every morning on the beach and found incredible shells. It is serene, beautiful and clean.

Our family really enjoyed this beach. We liked the lack of high rises and the local feel. There were life guards posted along the beach. There is a path that goes between the beach and the park. It takes you to the public restrooms and outside showers. Other beaches we went to either did not have showers or were very... More
