My mil and myself visited this amazing state park in January. We had the best time despite the rain which poured off and on all afternoon. The exhibits were wonderful. When the park was forced to cancellation some of its shows we due to the rain, a park ranger brought the show inside to everyone. She brought a snake for... More

My wife and I visited today. We first came to the park thirty five years ago with my parents when we were still dating. We were shocked to see that the Hippo my wife so fondly remembered feeding was still there! The setting is beautiful. It was difficult to see some of the animals as they were hiding in the... More

We visited hos park with the expectation to spend a couple of hours and see some local animals. Instead what we found was a friendly, knowledgeable staff and a wide variety of wildlife, both resident and visiting. The place was just the right size, it had plenty of events scheduled throughout the day. We ended up spending about five hours... More

Our first afternoon in town, we rode to the Visitor Center and checked out prices, tour times, etc. We would've been rushed had we paid admission that late in the day so we decided to come back the next day. Judging from what we saw just from the windshield quick view, we werent really all that impressed. But when we... More

We spent a pleasant couple of hours walking around the wildlife state park towards the end of March. As a visitor from overseas, we enjoyed being able to see the indigenous wildlife particularly the birds and the manatees. We were lucky that a mother and calf were in clear view in the natural spring that the park overlooks. Good for... More

If I lived in the area, I would visit regularly. I was in awe the entire time. Being able to be so close to many of God's creatures amidst the beauty of the surroundings was an unforgettable experience. I am so glad my parents are moving to Florida because my daughter, age 12, and I both will be returning!!

What's not to like about clear fresh water springs and manatees with their babies? It's a piece of old Florida, almost a secret, and much more fun than Orlando
